Mega Man Zero 2 continues Capcom's Mega Man spin-off series with new two-player support and a number of additional features. Players once again control the enigmatic Zero, first introduced in Mega Man X3, who comes to the defense of fellow robots (known as reploids) attacked by the ruthless Neo Arcadia police force. Zero can slash foes with his trademark Beam Sabre, blast enemies from afar using his Buster weapon, and perform dashes, jumps, and wall kicks to overcome obstacles or hazards placed in his path. <br><br>As players advance through desert wastelands, forests, power plants, trains, and more, Zero will grow stronger. Over time Zero's abilities will change along with his appearance, taking on different forms to help him complete his mission. Returning from the original game is a performance ranking system at the end of each level, only now earning an "S" or an "A" rating lets Zero use special skills in subsequent stages. Players can also acquire additional types of Cyber Elves to help Zero detect traps and perform other abilities. The two-player Link Battle mode has players racing against a friend on any of the unlocked stages from the main game.

Mega Man Zero 2
Like all good Mega Man games the game is not easy. The stages are difficult and you can't just rush them or you die. The bosses usually at the beginning take several tries. This level of difficulty is a blessing for those who do not want it to be a walk in the park. Zero can obtain different forms with different attacks and abilities depending on how you play. The staff from the first game has been replaced with a chain weapon that can help save your life when making dangerous jumps as it can grapple to walls and ceilings. There are still four weapons, but anyone who likes Zero knows the Z Saber is the only weapon for him. The chain is the only other good weapon and that is only for the life saves. If you use a Cyber Elf when you are revisiting an old stage you are penalized on the next mission you take. You get penalized for using Cyber Elves like normal, but they could change it so you only get penalized for the ones used in that mission.

Extremely fun but seriously hard game. It will hurt and you will love it.
As an avid MegaMan fan, I love the Zero series and Zero 2 I find very fun but also one of the most brutal of the 4 BUT it can be very easy if you aren't going for 100%, that's the catch. If you just want to play through the game and enjoy the story then its not too hard really. You have the Cyber Elves to help you along giving you nice power ups for Zero. Its great action platforming with great enemies and bosses to fight. You have 4 weapons at your disposal so you'll always have one that can get the job done. You'll unlock forms as you go as well to help make the run easier as well. If you are trying to 100% the game then you'll have a seriously HARD time with this one. There is a Ranking System in the game and you have to maintain an A or S Rank in order to get the boss ability upon defeating them. Your current Rank is always under your life bar so that helps in showing you what you are when you start a stage. What makes the Ranking System so brutal is that your Rank is determined by your AVERAGE Rank. How well you've been doing all the way up till the point you are at. So if you had a C in the intro Stage, then you are C upon starting the next stage and you WON'T get the boss ability. If you beat a stage and get an A rank in it then by averages you'll be a B Rank. You STILL won't get the next boss' ability. If you want to get all the abilities in 1 playthrough, you need to beat the intro stage with an A or S rank and CONTINUE to get A or S ranks. You can maybe afford a B or 2 later on if you kept getting multiple A or S but that's it. You need to be stupid good to keep getting the abilities. The Game does have New Game + so that helps you keep the abilities you have if you want to get the rest. Zero can also get new Forms where his color will change, similar to how Classic and X games did upon getting new abilities. The forms only change his Speed, Attack, and Defense and give him some sort of bonus. Maybe a Rolling Slash Attack, better Buster attacks, Half-Damage etc etc. The Cyber Elf system returns in this game as well and finding them is one thing but if you want to maintain your A or S ranks you CAN'T use them at all. Any dead Elves will permanently reduce your score which will reduce your rank considerably. The game itself is sorta long for an action platformer MegaMan game. Typical Megaman (Classic or X) would have at MOST, an Intro Stage, 8 bosses, then the Final Lair which is 3-4 stages. Zero 2 has an Intro Stage, then 4 bosses to take on. 2 Intermediate stages, then 4 more bosses to take on, then the Final Lair which is 4 or 5 more stages. So yeah pretty long game here but its so much fun that its more than okay for breaking the mold of typical MegaMan length. Of the Zero games I'd say this is 2nd hardest or maybe THE hardest in the series, contending against Zero 3, Zero 1 and 4 are the easiest. But that's my opinion about it. Anyway its a great game and the complete story of the Zero games is the BEST of all the MegaMan games. Its very story driven and much darker and serious than the other series and one of the hardest. My only wish is that it was available on something more than the handhelds like PS2 or something. Its one of the best handheld series I've ever played and if you want a tough platformer then look no further than the Zero games. They are amazing titles.

Dude, It's Megaman!
I've been playing the Megaman games since they came out about 15 or so years ago. This game is great just like all the other ones with a few new added features. One thing about the Megaman games in general: They are very difficult. If you're buying this for a kid with an anger management problem it's probably not a good idea because this game has inspired several vulgar out burts, but that just makes beating it all that much sweeter. That being said, for the Megaman fan, this game is absolutely amazing. I highly reccomend to all Megaman fans, as well as side-scroll shooter fans.I've been playing the Megaman games since they came out about 15 or so years ago. challenging and fun
This game was a lot of fun. The series has a reputation for being frustratingly difficult and at first I was tempted to give up early on, but I kept pushing and made it to the end (though I didn't quite beat it, lol). The game really provides you with the tools to make it a lot easier if you explore enough, in the form of Cyber Elves. They kind of act like special items that give you added health or abilities. The system for managing them was a bit confusing but I got used to it. And the game also rewards you for how well you play it by giving you different suit forms for Zero. This was the only one of the Zero series I ever played but I enjoyed it a lot. The game itself arrived quickly and as described. I love Mega Man and had been itching to try one of these games out for a while. Great!This game was a lot of fun. This is a really fun and addictive game! Great job Capcom.
I am an Old-School Mega Man fan who can only claim "Mega Man Expert" on the games for the NES and SNES. I found the later games, and even the more current Mega Man 9 and 10 releases to require too much effort... then I discovered the Zero series I'd overlooked on GBA. This is a really good and fun game! I find myself lost in the moment while I play and replay the stages, and upgrade Zero's varied weapons (including a sweet light-saber... ninja status!!!) via experience points.
