Nice books for your Ninjago lover!
I bought this set for my nephew, who is 7, and just LOVES Ninjago. Lego has created this whole storyline and characters where children can create their own adventures based on the books and cards, build the characters themselves, and become more interactive, rather than glued to a TV or PC. Overview and Story Lines The pricing on the books is quite fair($14.99 + $3.99 shipping), especially considering that this is the 'toy of the moment'! The books are a nice set of 4 paperbacks. I wish they were hardcover, in order to keep the books in better shape, but that would have doubled or tripled the price. If you take care of them, they should be fine. Placing them in a bag of some sort, or on a bookshelf should do the trick. The four books are: 'The Way Of The Ninja', 'Masters Of Spinjitsu', ... Each one continues the tale of how the four ninjas(Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane)first came together via Sensei Wu. They were trained in Spinjitsu for their mission to obtain the golden weapons, and to defeat the evil Lord Garmadon, and his son, Lloyd Garmadon. Along the way, the encounter many obstacles and adventures. They are quite exciting and engaging books. They definitely can bring out the imagination and an enjoyment of reading for a youngster. Age Appropriateness As a former Reading teacher, I would say that the target age would be about 8 or 9 or (2nd-3rd grade). However, many well developed readers at age 7 (1st grade) could read most of it on their own, especially by the middle to the end of Grade 1. Some words would definitely require some help, depending on their reading level and knowledge of vocabulary. You can also read it with your child, so you can assist, and monitor what it being read. It really depends on the reading level of the child, more so than the age. The books certainly will pique their interest in reading! Content I have seen a lot of negative comments about the content. While I do not advocate violence in any way, MOST children's books DO, in fact, contain violence!(Something we need to address as a society, however, this is not the place for that.) Even Disney has violence in their books and movies! So do all of the Fairy Tales we grew up with! My point is,that, while the stories do contain violence, there are also a lot of great adventures and lessons to be learned about good and evil. As a parent/guardian/caregiver, it is up to all of us to discuss with our children that this is not real and not acceptable in society and the the books are for FUN! Furthermore, there are places you can go to preview the books, so you will know exactly WHAT IS in the books! Recommendation I would definitely recommend this set for ages 7+. Both boys and girls may enjoy the series, especially girls who are not into Barbie or princesses! Children younger than that may not understand the story line or think that the stories are real. It is up to the buyer and the person you are buying it for, as to whether you, as the adult, deem it appropriate for you child.

Great book and great value.
I bought this book for my 4 yr old grandson who loves the Ninjago ninja's. He likes them because they have pictures with the stories and has us read to him before he goes to bed. This book is good for any child who loves Ninjago.

Great book series
My boys are 8 and 9 and don't like to read much, but they loved these books. This really kept their interest.
