The Fantastic Mr. Fox
I first saw Mr. Fox on an airplane. I laughed so hard I had to tighten the seat belt! It takes a bunch of animals to tell the human story of 'the rascal streak' that is deep in every man! We all (sometimes) behave this way, as Mr. Fox simply explains, because basically, "We are all wild animals"! It succeeds as a childrens' story on many levels (although the kids may not have the life-experience to fully appreciate the humor). It is an exciting and entertaining story. It has its pathos, but it doesn't end badly for the star (as some tales about incorrigible renegades often do). I liked: 1) The 'humanity' expressed by the animals; 2) The balanced presentation of the pluses and minuses of non-conformity, but most of all I liked 3)the way the concept of 'strength from diversity' was presented ... It's more than hilarious, it's funny because it's true.
This is the funniest and most observant animated feature I've seen in a decade.

The movie moves along at a quick pace and while no one joke blows you away that fact the it remains funny from start to finish is an achievement that is seldom, well.....achieved! The animation is quirky almost trippy, kind of like Robot Chicken and Adult Swim type stuff. The voice acting is also strong with Clooney, Murray and company giving the furry characters life. I may not have laughed so hard my stomach ached, but I had a smile on my face from start to finish and that doesn't happen often enough.The movie moves along at a quick pace and while no one joke blows you away that fact the it remains funny from start to finish is an achievement that is seldom, well.....achieved! Amazing Movie!
This is easily one of my favorite films of the last few years, and is pretty well situated in my all time list. The humor has different hue than most films of this category, the chemistry of the cast and crew oozes out in every frame, and the love & passion of the artisans, designers, animation crew, and voice talent are completely evident throughout the movie. Even if you're an adult this movie is thoroughly enjoyable. Don't deny yourself a chance to own this fantastic, funny, excellent movie!This is easily one of my favorite films of the last few years, and is pretty well situated in my all time list.
