Live Material from one of Rocks Finest Pure Rock Bands
If you never seen Journey with Steve Perry out front you have missed one of the absolute finest voices Rock Music has ever had the privilege of having. Steve Perry can hit notes so high only one other man that I am aware of had the range of Steve Perry to get as high as Steve Perry can get and that was Freddie Mercury of Queen who passed away some 15 years ago. Steve Perry while he is aged today, is not only still able to sing, he is still able to put an inspired pen to lyrics as well. Perry certainly could not have done what he was capable of doing without the musicians he had with him, Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon, Ross Valory and Steve Smith all played their parts oh so very very well. Jonathan Cain as he plays keyboards which today is a lost art, is something to behold while Neal ... And lets not forget Ross Valory on bass guitar who's playing is quite pronounced with clean crisp and perfectly timed licks. Having seen this tour live and having this DVD to watch and listen to whenever I please brings back so many good memories, like adult tickets for a mere 11.75 not 300.00 like they are today. To hear MUSIC played by people that you can actually understand and listen to, lyrics that have heart and soul poured into them is very refreshing, especially in the times we live in today, where it seems that all the lyrics written today are about sex, killing or violence of some sort. All in all if you want to discover what real music is about, or if you remember the days of real music and would like to relive those days, then this DVD is an absolute MUST HAVE. Get this DVD and discover or rediscover what REAL MUSIC is all about. You will love this....

Reliving....
This DVD brought back wonderful memories of just how great Journey was in its prime. The instrumentals were just amazing. And, Steve Perry had a voice beyond compare. I have watched it a few times, and I'm sure I will watch it many, many more times. I'm so glad I purchased this. Also, I like the fact that a CD was included, so I can listen to it "live" when I'm on the go.

Recorded in Houston on 1981's Escape tour for then a very young MTV ( BACK WHEN THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED REAL MUSIC ), this DVD shows the classic Journey linup with Steve Perry, Neil Schon, Jonnathan Cain, Ross Valory and Steve Smith. The DVD has been remastered and looks great, and the music is absolutely awsome. If you're a fan of Journey with Steve Perry, this is a must-have!
Awesome concert footage! Really enjoying it! It's almost like being there, back in 1981. It's not high-def quality, but it is still great! I "grew up" listening to Journey but didn't become a big fan until just a few months ago, after hearing some of their songs that I hadn't heard in many years. It brought back a lot of good memories, so I decided to purchase the DVD of their hits, and then this Live in Houston 1981: Escape Tour DVD.Awesome concert footage! Really enjoying it! Exactly what it is
My favourite Journey tour, very well captured visuals and sound on the dvd. The booklet is in good condition, as is the cd. Many happy hours ahead watching/listening ahead!
