Arriving three years after its arcade brethren, Namco's Time Crisis 2 is the first light gun game to appear on the PlayStation 2. The game's release also marks the debut of the GunCon2; a popular light gun peripheral fashioned by Namco themselves. The home conversion plays host to a wealth of new modes and options, including support for two-player split-screen and i.Link support -- which enables two players, each with a PS2, TV set, and copy of the game to emulate the setup found in the arcade. The Arcade mode allows one (using either one or two guns) or two players to make their way through the game's three stages. <br><br>Gameplay adheres to many of the genre's established conventions, but what separates Time Crisis 2 from similar gun-toting titles, is the use of the "ducking" mechanic. By pressing a button on the gun (or a pedal in the arcade title), players can duck and hide behind objects in the stage, thereby avoiding enemy gunfire and facilitating reloading of your weapon at the same time. While the majority of the action takes place on foot, players will also find themselves on speeding boats and trains. As the game title suggests, each area must be completed within a time limit or you will lose a life, lose too many, and the game is over.<br><br>As agent Keith Martin or Robert Baxter you set out to find a missing agent Christy Ryan, and discover Neodyne Industries' true intentions for a network of military satellites they're set to put into operation. The Extra Games mode provides three different disciplines to compete in: Agent Trainer, Quick & Crash, and Shoot Away 2. The last two are in fact classic Namco arcade titles. A hidden mode called Crisis Mission presents players with various challenges, such as killing a certain number of enemies within a specified time limit or rescuing a group of hostages.

Namco's Done It Again!
GAMEPLAY [Singleplayer]- (5 STARS) Namco's Time Crisis 2 has done it again. It has brought the old duck and shoot formula from the original Time Crisis with better graphics and better gameplay better than ever. Bosses are more interesting and realistic better than before; environments are destructive; the enemy are smarter than before and take cover. Even with all these changes you will still be using the handgun and the duck and shoot formula will still be the same. Once in a while you will be given a chance to play with more weapons such as picking up a machine gun for a short while. GUNCON 2- (4 STARS) The Guncon 2 still uses the A & B buttons for ducking but are located right above the the trigger of the Guncon which makes reloading difficult which makes me quite ... However a new D-pad is made on the back of the Guncon and allows some new gameplay experiance such as sniping in the 3rd Time Crisis. Keep in mind, the Guncon 2 is only compatible with CRV Tvs, not LCD, Plasma, and etc. Multiplayer- (2 Stars) Multiplayer is a very disappointment. You probably expect split screen gameplay to be split screen gameplay allowing each player to take up 50% of the screen, right? WRONG! The split screen gameplay only allows each player to take up about one sixth of the screen. It makes it very difficult to see and the accuracy of the guncon becomes very low. New Features- (5 Stars) Extra games makes the rating gives this category 5 stars. Targeting practice and two other Namco arcade games are included in this game which makes this game such a great deal. Despite the extra games feature, the single player double gun feature is lamest idea for the game. Playing with one gun is 2X more fun than playing with two. As you might imagine, when holding two guns, reloading is impossible and the accuracy becomes very low.

Great game with excellent replay time.
Time Crisis II is definitely for the people who love lightgun games. Like the arcade version, it has all 3 stages with several areas each. Depending on the skill of the player, it can take 15 mins (the least i took) to probably 30 mins. This process isn't that bad since you will come back for more as there plenty of modes to play in after you beat the game. Aside from the main game itself, it also has several mini games and a extra missions mode which are quite challenging. The player will have several hours of playing due to these features. I would recommend this game to people who like the time crisis series, and those who want to try something new other than house of the dead. time crisis 2 good game for guncon2
good game. would recommend it. Havent finished game yet but so far i love all the time crisis games with the guncon2. looking forward to playing more games with the guncon2 such as time crisis 3, crisis zone and others. If u have never played a guncon2 game u dont know what u r missing they are very addictive. When u get stuck u still wanna keep going, definately some of the best ps2 games ever made in my opinion.Very excited about purchasing the new 100HZ clear lightgun made for HD tv's for ps1 and ps2. I think these will be alot better games in HD cant wait to try it outgood game. would recommend it.
