Burning Wild by Christine Feehan - depressing
I have all of Christine Feehan's books -I absolutely love them - but this book I am not fond of. It is simply too depressing. I felt that the book tried too hard to be edgy, the sex was not romantic or fun or in any way a positive experience, and it was so far beyond realistic that I could not associate with the characters, even though I do with those in her other books. I understand and admire Ms. Feehans ability to take characters with abusive childhoods and show that they can become strong, confident adults but, somehow, that message was not shown to its best light in this book. So, if you are looking for paranormal romance/erotica, I highly recommend Ms. Feehan's other books such as those in her Carpathian (vampire), Game (genetically altered) and Drake (7 powerful sisters) series ... I have all of Christine Feehan's books -I absolutely love them - but this book I am not fond of. It is simply too depressing. Intensely satisfying!
I love Christine Feehan! I had just finished the Carparthian series and was in a state of mourning when my book arrived and thank goodness! I read it in two days flat. Yes, it was intense but it moves and has such emotional depths. And that's what I love about her books, is the way she writes each characters emotions - so full, that you can physically feel it as a reader. I have been reading other reviews and must agree that this book is not for everyone or for first timers to her writings. But if you enjoyed some of her darker books in the Carparthian series then you will appreciate the rush from this book!I love Christine Feehan! Burning Wild is HOT
I absolutely loved this story, and I think it is Christine's best to date. I couldn't put the book down once I started it. Christine is a master at building intense, brooding and sexy male characters, as well as strong yet loving women characters. She is also the best at writing about the paranormal.
