NOW A BLOCKBUSTER MOTION PICTURE DIRECTED BY CLINT EASTWOOD NOMINATED FOR SIX ACADEMY AWARDS, INCLUDING BEST PICTUREA celebration of the remarkable life and legacy of fallen American hero Chris KyleThis commemorative memorial edition of Kyle's bestselling memoir features the full text of American Sniper, plus more than eighty pages of remembrances by those whose lives he touched personally including his wife, Taya; his parents, brother, and children; Marcus Luttrell and other fellow Navy SEALs; veterans and wounded warriors; lifelong friends; and many others. He was the top American sniper of all time, called "the legend" by his Navy SEAL brothers, and a hero by those he served on the home front . . .From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. Kyle earned legendary status among his fellow SEALs, Marines, and U.S. Army soldiers, whom he protected with deadly accuracy from rooftops and stealth positions. Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle's masterful account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the greatest war memoirs of all time.A native Texan who learned to shoot on childhood hunting trips with his father, Kyle was a champion saddle-bronc rider prior to joining the Navy. After 9/11, he was thrust onto the front lines of the War on Terror, and soon found his calling as a world-class sniper who performed best under fire. He recorded a personal-record 2,100-yard kill shot outside Baghdad; in Fallujah, Kyle braved heavy fire to rescue a group of Marines trapped on a street; in Ramadi, he stared down insurgents with his pistol in close combat. Kyle talks honestly about the pain of war of twice being shot, and experiencing the tragic deaths of two close friends.American Sniper also honors Kyle's fellow warriors, who raised hell on and off the battlefield. And in moving first-person accounts throughout, Kyle's wife, Taya, speaks openly about the strains of war on their marriage and children, as well as on Chris.Adrenaline-charged and deeply personal, American Sniper is a thrilling eyewitness account of service and sacrifice that only one man could tell."

  • Insightful for Civilians Who Don't Understand

I found this book to be very grounded and authentic. Chris Kyle takes us somewhere none of want to go-but somebody has to do it. Introspective to the dynamics of life and death teamwork and absolute trust. I wish more people could read this and see the kind of people who protect us regardless of the politics and hyperbole that is fed to the people of this country. Absolute best- Semper Fidelis

  • Awesome Book I read it for hours, action packed, makes a great gift, definitely a must have for your Library Collection

I really enjoyed reading this book definitely one of my top favorites to add to my library collection. It's a beautiful tribute to Chris Kyle as it contains his book American Sniper and has a memorial section with pictures and personal stories from his family, neighbors & friends to give the reader more depth as to how people perceived and knew Chris personally. I'm going to be honest I did cry a few times while reading this book. This book mentions the 4 Tours of Iraq Chris served. The struggles and sacrifices he made. What is was like to be there in Iraq, how the day was like, the surroundings, what happened day and night. Those people that met him or knew him are truly blessed to meet a wonderful humble & genuine person with a heart of gold. No matter how many hours it took at his book ...

  • Great Read!

This is a very well written and details of a great American SEAL. It is easy to read and gets into the details of a great American military hero. It also sheds light on some of the relationships of the USA and situation with us in the Middle East, especially Iraq. This book came to me in great condition.

  • The Best of the Best

Despite Jesse Ventura’s attacks, this is an amazing book for those who want to see through the eyes of a SEAL, a Sniper, one of our Veterans, all of whom deserve respect. This edition has more to it than the original. It came in perfect condition and I was shocked. The seller who sold it is 10*/5*. He did a great job, sold it very cheap. I recommend this to anyone.

  • Excellent Read

As a former 8 year veteran I can say, this one tells it like it really was for him and family . He was totally focused and dedicated to his profession, and unlike many was honest about enjoying it (the challenge and protecting the other warriors) while it was going down . Often men are apologetic about doing the job in war but not him and that is so refreshing . If you want to read about a truly dedicated Professional Warrior read this one . Glad such people still serve .
