    What is Blu Ray? A Blu-ray Disc (BD) is a next-generation optical disc format meant for high-density storage of high-definition video and data. The Blu-ray standard was jointly developed by a group of consumer electronics and PC companies called the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA). It is currently competing with the HD DVD format for wide adoption as the prefered next generation optical standard. A Blu-ray Disc will be able to store substantially more data than a DVD, because of the shorter wavelength (405 nm) of the blue-violet laser (DVDs use a 650-nm-wavelength red laser and CDs an infrared 780 nm laser), which allows more information to be stored digitally in the same amount of space. In comparison to HD DVD, which also uses a blue laser, Blu-ray has more information capacity per layer ...

    The Terminator (Blu Ray)

    Terminator is one of those exceptional films that are simply amazing in their own way. The cast was very wisely chosen and James Cameron had a very good inspiration on the character Kyle Reese (mentioned in the special features on the blu ray). This movie really gets you thinking about a lot of things like: is technology going at a rate so fast it will soon take over the world? Will our existence be wiped out by our own creation? It always gives you an impression in some sort of way, like the last time I watched it I could feel the inner transformation in Sarah Connor and how she found her strength in her fear of the machines. And I could always detect the pain Kyle Reese went through before he went back in time and how much of a hell it had become and how small the chance of survival ...

    Bad digital transfer, good movie

    Great movie, but this bluray transfer isn't good. Lots of dirt on film. See bluray.com. The price was right!

    Whoa...a movie from 1984 can look this good?

    This is a top-notch transfer. I was not prepared for how good this would look, considering the age of the source. Detail and color are strong, and the 5.1 audio is noticeably improved over the DVD version. While this isn't the sharpest-looking Blu-Ray I own, it is amazing when you realize how old this movie is. This movie is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, so it takes up almost all of the 16:9 screen. Highly recommended for fans of the Terminator series.
