À propos de ce produit

Product Information

The prequel to Secret of Mana, which debuted on Super NES in 1993, Sword of Mana is an action role-playing game featuring two characters -- one male, one female -- whose seemingly separate paths intertwine to fulfill a common goal. The great and powerful Mana Tree is on the verge of collapsing at the hands of an evil empire. The male hero, a man unjustly captured and enslaved as a gladiator, seizes an opportunity for freedom and begins a quest to find those responsible for his years of captivity. The heroine is a direct descendant of a tribe who has sworn to protect the Mana Tree at all costs. Sword of Mana features an identical overhead perspective and interface as found in Secret of Mana, including the Ring Command controls used to switch between magic and weapons while in combat.

Instead of being taken to a separate menu screen while the game is paused, players can view all of the available commands in a circle floating around the lead character. To switch among items or forms of attack, players can simply press left or right to revolve the ring of commands. As in Secret of Mana, combat against enemies takes place in real time, with the option for two players to team up to fight enemies using a Game Link Cable. Familiar characters making cameos are Niccolo the merchant and Li'l Cactus, whose diary helps flesh out the story. Known as Seiken Densetsu in Japan, Sword of Mana was previously released in the United States as Final Fantasy Adventure on the original Game Boy in 1991. The visuals and a number of other features have been enhanced to take advantage of the Game Boy Advance's increased power.

  • Beautiful game!

Sword of Mana was originally released as Final Fantasy Adventure for the original GameBoy. I purchased FFA 10 years ago, and when I heard of the whole "Final Fantasy name sells better" thing, I decided on buying Sword of Mana. Sword of Mana is an adventure game were you take control of either a boy or a girl and try to save the world from an evil that wants the power of the mana tree. The boy part is the real remake of the original FFA, the girl part is just a little bit different. The graphics are the best part of the game. There are many fluid movements that left me really amazed like the battle animations, and even when you plant your first cactus house. Another cool part is that when you talk to almost all of the people in the game you get a small portrait of him/her/it next to the ...

  • Square scores another hit

While this is not Seiken Densetsu 3 or Secret of Mana, Square still hit it right with this one. It's almost as if keeping the game similar to the games fans want works... This is a remake of an old Gameboy game called Final Fantasy Adventure(which i loved, unfortunately i deleted my awesome save file and never got around to beating it again) Final Fantasy Adventure/Sword of Mana is really the first Seiken Densetsu game then followed by the fan favorite Secret of Mana. This game remains pretty true to Final Fantasy Adventure in terms of story and gameplay, it also adds in elements of Secret of Mana such as the ring commands and they made the overdrive/limit break/whatever system similar to Seiken Densetsu 3. Not much has been changed and if you are a fan of Final Fantasy Adventure or the ...

  • I like this game, its kinda like Zelda on steroids... Very nice

Good graphics for the time, great story and gameplay... Its like Zelda but better in my opinion... Why they didn't make a sequel to this game is beyond me, I think its one of the best gba games out there.

  • Fantastic Action RPG

Final Fantasy Adventure was my favorite game for the original GameBoy when I was a kid. When I heard that Sword of Mana for GameBoy Advance was in reality a remake of FF Adventure, I knew I had to have it. So far the experience has been excellent. The graphics and sound are top-notch (for a GBA game) and the overall story progression is solid. It's great hearing the original songs again only improved for the GBA. The storyline is very similar to before, but there are some changes. Also the weapons upgrade system and character level customization have been given more depth to give the player more RPG type options. Some of the changes took some getting used to, but I like them overall. The only things I don't like are the removal of the puzzle elements in the dungeons that were soooooo good ...

  • Sword of Mana - Great Remake

It has good action and look a lot better than the original. The class system is good if you're actually aware of it or how to choose which class you wish to pursue. The forging system (strengthening weapons/armor with fruits and veggies)could probably be better. It was pretty complicated, I mean you have plant a certain mixture of seeds at a specific time to get a specific fruit or veggie gets pretty aggravating (unless you like that stuff, then its more fun than a barrel of monkeys.) Other than these two draw backs, this is a solid game with hours of fun at a reasonable price.
