Great unit, Much better than the ones from the cable companies
The unit arrived and was "new". Used the setup process and now we are enjoying the TIVO 'unified' entertainment system. Still learning how to use some of the features - had to go online for a user manual. It is really great to have access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, et al without having to go to my blueray player or smart TV. I can access everything from the Tivo Bolt. Not an issue with the unit, but be sure the company you buy TV from that their cable card allows you access to their on demand shows. Frontier's didn't!The unit arrived and was "new". TiVo Bolt is fantastic!
Very, very easy to setup. On screen instructions are great, easy to program remote to work TV and separate soundbar. Menu is awesome, recording is seamless. System presents options for streaming (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and Vudu) as well as options to record. Insert CableCard from your provider and it automatically scans. Works with TiVo Mini setup on another machine through the existing coax cables (do anything, including stream, from the Mini as if it were the Bolt without the need for any other subscription). If you can't quite "cord cut", this is the way to go. $4.99 monthly for me for the CableCard vs $20 for DVR service and $12 per TV. Up front cost is a little more obviously, but then it starts to pay off quickly. After the first year, just $14.99 per month for the TiVo ... Very, very easy to setup. Should pay for itself quickly.
If you have used one of the main services then you know they charge you for every thing you do and every piece of equipment in every room every month. Tivo does cost as a service but only a fraction of other services. Just the fact that someone sits there and marks commercials so I can zap then instantly (which works very well BTW) is worth the cost. This one was open box but was discounted and in perfect shape. I like the way you can stil see the show when you fast forward or jump. The menus change fast. No problems getting it registered. Works good with Mini. The only glitch I have seen is it did not give me all my channels a couple time briefly. The Tivo I have needed for years!!!
This is the Tivo that I expected to buy years ago! This is the Fastest, Easiest-To-Use, Feature-Packed Tivo ever ! With Built-In Wifi (No Wireless Adapter need), this is FAST! The 4K output is just icing on the cake! The only thing I wish was different, was that it was compaatible with my older (Slide-Out Keyboard) Tivo remote. Still, the best TIVO ever !!! Every app (Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, etc. blazing fast !!!This is the Tivo that I expected to buy years ago! This is the Fastest, Easiest-To-Use, Feature-Packed Tivo ever ! The Best TIVO yet
Love the TIVO BOLT - required a cablecard from TWC and tuner (TWC cablecard support sent the kit Free of charge) I connected wirelessly, but will need to add moca if I get a mini - hoping and waiting for that to got wireless. For now I am very very happy with the Bolt and am so glad I waited for it - no more TWC DVR set top box.
