In the realm where puerile plotlines and locker-room humor meet hardcore shooter action, Duke is king, and after a decade-long hiatus, the king returns in Duke Nukem Forever. With development completed by Gearbox Software for a 2011 release, the game incorporates many contemporary first-person shooter features, but the destructible surroundings, larger-than-life enemies, and high-adventure pacing are in classic Duke Nukem form.<br><br>In a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas setting of crumbling roadways and toppled buildings, mission levels are stocked with grizzly pig-cop enemies, monstrous alien bosses, and plenty of hot babes in various states of undress and need of rescue. As he frags and gibs his way through each gory sequence, Duke rattles off an arsenal of deadpan one-liners to rival Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Campbell in their action-flick heydays (as well as some that were probably lifted from their movies in the first place).<br><br>Available weapon set-ups include two-fisted pistols and the traditional shotgun, as well as more fantastical devices, such as the shrink ray that lets Duke squish enemies beneath his boot heels. Players can also get behind the wheel of vehicles they encounter in the game, and some sequences have Duke manning powerful stationary weapons. Along the way, story-driven character interactions allow players to express some of their innermost machismo urges. <br><br>After saving the world (in 3D) the first time (on MS-DOS, PlayStation, N64, and other mid-'90s gaming platforms), Duke Nukem disappeared -- or so the story goes. When the angry alien invaders returned, and tore into civilization with a vengeance, the great hero was nowhere to be found. When they started stealing away the planet's hottest babes, however, it was enough to bring Duke out of retirement and into the fray, with an "all out of bubblegum" sense of urgency.

    Just Fun

    Duke Nukem here is a mix between modern and old school shooting/game mechanics that actually works. The graphics are not too bad either. The gunplay is very easy to get into however some may be turned off by no iron sights. Have not had any bugs as far as shooting goes. The story is a standard aliens pretend to want peace and our president was dumb enough to believe them. As far as hilarity goes there are some funny one liners however most probably come from interacting in the enviroment. One that caught me off guard and made me laugh was when I botched up a game of pool. I have not been able to touch the multiplayer. From what is up videowise it seems like it harkens back to the Timesplitters/Quake kind of mayhem. Would I recommend it to everyone? No. If you enjoy at least the ...

    Don&apos;t believe all the negative reviews Duke Nukem Forever is awesome!

    There have been many scathing reviews about this game I want to give you my thoughts about this matter. First of all Duke Nukem Forever does not deserve all the terrible reviews it has gotten. True it has been in development for 12 years and it is still heavily flawed. There were not enough check points at crucial parts of the game so you do the same area over and over and because the load screens take such a long time around 1 minute it gets very very annoying. The other thing is when you get stuck and have no idea how to progress there are no pop up messages to tell you what to do they could have at least had Duke a line of dialogue to help you progress or a map like most games do. But these were not that big of a deal because how much fun the story was. Hilarious Duke lines, funny game ...

    Missed a great game!

    I loved the original Duke Nukem 3D. After eagerly awaiting Duke Nukem Forever for twelve years I avoided the game post release due to the terrible reviews it received. After five years I picked it up on eBay for under five dollars and realized i missed one of the most fun and most detailed shooters I've ever played. Thanks to this game i will never base my purchasing decisions on professional game reviews again. If you enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D you will enjoy this game. If you like classic shooters will like this game. Hail to the king!

    Duke Nukem done right

    Classic duke with a new school feel. Voice is spot on, dialog and oneliners are laugh out loud funny. Graphics are a little jaggy in some areas, still suffers from some screen tearing and pop up. But overall a enjoyable experience ,and it has multiplayer.

    fun and a badass game

    There was many bad reviews for this game before it was released which discouraged many and made them change their minds about getting it after they had already pre-ordered it. I am here to say that all of those bad reviews from places like IGN must have been from losers intimidated by Duke's Manliness...lol This is a great and fun game and also challenging. If you are a Duke Nukem fan you will love this game. It is also full of babes so even if your not a duke fan, if your just a man, your going to love this game. The major con of duke nukem forever 360 versio...Read full reviewn is the multiplayer is not that great, you can tell it would work much better on a PC where you have a mouse. Hopefully they update the multiplayer though and if you are thinking about getting this game for 360 ...
