Reasonable Speaker for Reasonable Listeners
I give these speakers a 4 out of 5 rating. Though smaller than the 6X9's often found, in many cars, as rear deck, or, even door speakers. They are a modest priced replacement speaker, worth looking at, as a replacement for the existing car stereo system speaker of the same size, that do the job reasonable well, under general conditions (although not really for the head bangers, or, thumper crowd). Their 200 watt rating, is most likely IPP (peak power), which most likely delivers true RMS value around 50 watts. The frequency response is good, (again not thumpers) starts @18hz, and I don't know anyone who can truely hear @20,000hz anyway, do you? So, when coupled to a reasonable receiver, they will deliver realistic sound quality. With the correct wire size, and the new mid range Kenwood ... I give these speakers a 4 out of 5 rating. But, at full volume, keeping in mind, just about any speaker would distort, under those conditions. So, this makes these a reasonable investment, to upgrade from the stock speakers, the OEM originally installed in the vehicle. Granted,there are better speakers available, but frankly, this is the best bang for the buck, for the average driver/commuter, no mater what your musical preference. So, yes I'm very pleased with these, for what they do, and how well they do it. 1 to 2 watts is fine for me while driving to maintain my alertness & concentration, But, yes admittedly, I'll crank it to 5 to 10 watts, when something good comes over the air, I haven heard for a while. And they still sound clean.

great sounding speakers,super price

awesome speakers
These speakers are great. The original radio in my s 10 sounded ok with these speakers , but when i put a new japaneese radio in my truck , oh my gosh!! It sounded awesom. i got a Tocado double din radio that has 50x50 sound and it is plenty lound enough with windows down driving on highway.

Buy these now!
I bought these speakers to replace the blown out factory rear speakers in a 1994 GMC Sierra. I had already replaced the front speakers with a new set of Sonys. I decided to do a little sound comparison, and I was pleasantly surprised! I pulled out the Sonys, installed the Bosses, and could not hear any significant difference in sound quality. And, the Boss speakers actually fit the factory dash location much better than the Sonys. I think the Boss may not produce quite as much bass, but again, there is very little, if any difference. Best bang for the buck.
I was replacing factory dash speakers in a 1979 Corvette. Removed old paper speakers that wore worn out and had holes in the woofers from age. I am using the factory stereo, and the Boss speakers filled the bill at a great price. They sound crisp and clear and although not hooked to a big amp or anything, I am well pleased and would purchase again.
