À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Director Frank Darabont's second adaptation of a Stephen King prison tale (the first being 1994's nearly flawless THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION) is a hopeful charmer with a hint of the supernatural. The story focuses on Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks), a Louisiana security guard who works on death row during the Great Depression. When John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a gigantic black man convicted of raping and murdering two white girls, joins the other prisoners on the row, Paul's life is forever altered. Coffey doesn't fit the mold of a psychopathic killer; he's kind, gentle, and afraid of the dark. As the story progresses, Edgecomb learns that there is something more than simple goodness to Coffey. Building to a hopeful climax, Darabont once again proves that he is King's most loyal cinematic translator. The film features uniformly excellent performances in leading and supporting roles, notably Duncan as Coffey; David Morse and Barry Pepper as Hanks's fellow prison guards; and Michael Jeter as condemned killer Edward Delacroix.

  • The Green Mile

This was one of the better films to me as it depicted the older lifestyles and ways people were in the small town country atmosphere, and how prisons were then for some. Also with a twist of the supernatural abilities of John Coffe, an innocent man that had to deal with pain from others, hatred for him, and much more. Tom Hanks acting ability in a serious film was excellent, as were the others in this film. It is one that anyone, almost, could enjoy watching if they are wanting to relax and go back in time to an era that most of us never experienced. It showed that not all death row prisons were inhumane, and not all of those in it were guilty. The electric chair scene showed an accurate depiction of what would and has happened to those electrocuted in times past. It is a dreadful thing, ...

  • The Green Mile (VHS, 2000)

It's 1933 and in the Louisiana State Penetentiary, Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) is captain of the guards on the "Green Mile", or as it is beat known, Death Row. He and his associates must keep the calm, and when the time comes, perform the ultimate, execution by electric chair. This is a dreadful place. This story delves into the personal lives of both the guards, and the prisoners. Irregardless of which side of the bars, they are all human and they all have a story and a fate, though some much different than the others. One day, John Coffee arrives on the Mile. He has been convicted of murdering two children and is sentenced to die. He is huge. He looks to be 6'8" and about 350 pounds. Soon however, it becomes apparent that this man may not be guilty. He has a gentleness in him, and a gift ...

  • Green mile

Steven King is my all time favorite. He has done alot of work, but i have to say this is my favorite movie ever. My favorite part of the movie is when they take John Coffie out of the prison to help a lady with cancer. The part of the movie i most dislike, well, i have to say none of it, but the most uncomfortable part is when the little twin girls get murdered. Steven King has a wonderful mind. This movie will never not be number one to me. I purchased this because i had seen it before and just had to have it.

  • The Green Mile

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's a wonderful story of an innocent man on death row. It follows Paul Edgecomb's (Tom Hanks) view of the story. I've always loved Stephen King's movies, and this by far is his best yet. If you're a fan of Stephen King or of Tom Hanks then you should definitely get this movie for your collection, you won't be disappointed! This is definitely worth watching!

  • Just as Good the 2nd Time

A great movie with a lot of twists. The best Steven King adaptation to the screen. It is a good story that will touch your heart. The casting is great. It is about an innocent man on death row and what it would be like in the day to day activities and interaction of the guards and prisoners. Well worth adding to your collection.
