Product Information

Konami's celebrated crooning series continues its affiliation with television's American Idol in this feature-filled follow-up. Forty classic and contemporary songs from the '70s, '80s, and '90s are featured, with hits made popular by such artists as Fergie, Gladys Knight, Cutting Crew, and Billy Joel. As in previous Karaoke Revolution games, players attempt to match each song's pitch and phrasing using a USB microphone (sold separately). Points are awarded each time a note is hit and held for the proper duration, with bonus multipliers awarded for stringing together successful combos. Up to eight players are supported in various party modes, where teams or individuals challenge each other for top performances.<br><br>After creating a custom singing persona from multiple head, body, clothing, and accessory choices, players will test their vocal skills in venues based on the hit show. While American Idol Encore introduces several new accessories, the biggest surprise is the inclusion of judge Paula Abdul, who was not featured in 2007's game. Adjustable difficulty levels are also available for melody makers of all abilities, and by mastering each challenge setting, players can unlock bonuses such as new characters, tunes, and outfits. Among the featured songs are "Irreplaceable," "Black Hole Sun," "September," "You're Beautiful," "Midnight Train to Georgia," "My Heart Will Go On," and "Unfaithful."

    What a great game

    I love the way that playstation does the karaoke revolution. You are able to pick your player and dress them the way that you want. You even get to pick out the style and color of their hair. As you sing the songs, you get to unlock new songs, clothes, and even characters. The only thing I personally would have liked to seen is the video that goes along with each song. But the overall way it is done is really neat. I bought this game because we have all of the Singstars that were made and decided to start a collection of karaoke revolution. I would recommend this game to anyone!

    Good Fun

    My family really loves this game. We have a lot of good family fun playing together. The game was easy to install and easy to use. This is one of those games that the entire family can play (parents, kids and friends).

    Another great Karaoke Revolution!

    The American Idol Encore is GREAT fun!!! The comments by Paula, Randy and Simon are a hoot...and will certainly make this interesting version more fun!!! One of the great features is the versatility of how you play... from one quickie, duets, or head to head. A musically great time to be had with this edition of the Karaoke Revolution Series. Keep 'em coming!!!!

    Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol

    I love anything I can sing with and this game is perfect. I also get to see how well I do in the process. I had played the game with my sister in law a couple of years ago and have been trying to get a Playstation 2 since then. I finally found one in my price range so I bought the game.

    I love this game!

    This is a great game to play by yourself or with friends. There are settings for everyone so if you sing terribly but your friends sings really well, you can be on an easy setting and they can be on a hard setting. Great songs. I wish they had a manual way to change the key of the song though.
