Product Information

John Woo Presents Stranglehold stars martial arts star Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila, a detective on Hong Kong's police force in search of his kidnapped daughter. The game features a single-player story mode in which players take the role of Tequila and fight their way through cities such as Hong Kong and Chicago to locate the missing child who is held captive by mafia members and gangsters. Players will have the opportunity to earn style points by performing such moves as running up banisters while shooting, and when enough points are acquired, gamers can execute moves that include the "Tequila Bomb" or enter "Tequila Time." "Tequila Time" is a sequence during a gunfight when enemies are slowed down while players maintain their speed, making it easier to hit targets. Up to eight players can get involved in multiplayer action through the Internet, and the environments within the game are fully destructible and interactive.

    All out action!!!

    I'm a few levels into this game and I must say it is a very exciting game. If your someone out there looking just for a good time I would highly recomend stranglehold. I downloaded the demo 3 weeks before release and I was in just awww. But to warn you after the initial experience the game gets a little repitive. That's why it didnt get the full 5 stars. This game is all out action, balls to the wall. You will definatley do some killing, no no you will do a whole shit ton of killing. This game looks great with the unreal engine. The environments are completly instructable and you can interact with many things to pull of some sweet moves(sliding down rails, sliding across tables, hanging on to chandlers) just to name a few.     Stranglehold is Woo to the Max Payne and is pretty good

    This Review is brought to you by http://blog.graduategames.com Stranglehold is a John Woo game through and through. It definitely does not tread new ground in either story or gameplay, but does a pretty good job fusing familiar elements from all of its influences. Gameplay: 8/10 Pros: The gameplay is just plain fun. It's a mix of Max Payne Bullet Time gameplay with some pretty flashy new moves and situations. Face-Offs are nice gun duels that break up the monotony of running and diving. Story is serviceable if a little over the top and out there even for John Woo. Cons: Enemies are retarded. They pretty much run straight at you and spawn from closets/doors strewn throughout the level. Deaths can be frustrating because it's due from an enemy spawning in a door behind you with a shotgun, ...

    NOT WHAT I THOUGHT!!

    I watched previews for this game read all kinds of info and waited from the day it was delayed for another 10 days, after all I had saw I thought this game would be totally awesome. The graphics are excellent, the game play is fun but..theres not much to it, shoot, shoot, and shoot some more, dive, slide and shoot. After about 30 minutes of play time I noticed how repetitive the game is. You dont even have to reload your weapons, the guns have a limited ammount of ammo such as the shotgun can only hold 12 bullets. It has some cool things like the zoom aim and u watch the bullets travel all the way to its target which is cool, you got "Tequila Time"(slow motion) which comes on automatically whenever you are diving and aiming at a enemy or can be turned on manually.     Stranglehold Xbox 360 Looks to be a Top Tier 360 Game

    I just played the demo and wow, what a great concept for a shooter. Of course you have the slow motion concept, same as in F.E.A.R., but as you are in slow motion, you see the bullets Matrix style. You can avoid shots taken at you and counter with a barrage of skills that can be obtained through gameplay. The graphics are so-so. Sometimes looking a little 2nd gen, but overall not bad. With tons of surrounding to use as weapons, the explosions and shooting are one of a kind. Can't wait to play the whole game, Looks Good!!!!

    John Woo lived up to the hype

    This game of course makes it feel movie worthy. It is very simple to follow and I got pretty far in one sitting. I think if you like the action, blood, and gore of the movies of taking out the bad guys, this is your kinda game. I practiced shooting some of the watermellons at the market ( on the game ) to get ready for all the abd guysi was going to be bringing down. It gets a little harder as you go on, but i really did enjoy this game. The biggest con for me on this game is the extremely long phases on the game. yes you have checkpoints, but if you turn off the game they are not saved until you have passed that section. I need seem to get motion sick with some of the phases of this game but i was playing for long periods at a time. good game for a mature audience.
