Toshiba MK2533GSG drives have an impressive 250GB of storage space. They spin at a speed of 5400RPM, which is still the standard for many modern hard drive types. The Toshiba MK2533GSG could make an acceptable primary or secondary drive for many PCs. Its relatively large cache size determines the speed at which data is written to it. The Toshiba MK2533GSG HDD is intended as an internal hard drive. It can handle the storage functions of a system that takes 1.8-inch drives. The Toshiba MK2533GSG is a 5400rpm drive with a 16MB cache. This cache supports both write and read-ahead drive functions. It is a SATA-300 HDD that can transfer data at up to 3Gb per second. It has an average latency of 5.6 milliseconds, and takes about 15 milliseconds to find the data the system is looking for. It has a track-to-track seek time of three milliseconds, thanks to its magnetic recording abilities. The Toshiba MK2533GSG has 512 bytes per sector and a capacity of 250GB, which is enough for hundreds or even thousands of files. It comes with Toshiba’s reputation for drive robustness and reliability. The Toshiba MK2533GSG HDD has in-built shock-sensing technology, to manage impacts that may result in data loss or corruption.     Not recommended for HP 2740p

    This drive works well and and it is a good product but I think it is not a good fit for this computer. It seems to be a little large so it fits very tightly and does not allow for the installation of the black rubber mount I purchased separately. A metal clamp that goes over the plug does not seem to fit eiither. I had to improvise with a piece of foam, normally used under floors, glued to the back cover to hold the drive in place. It also requires the purchase of an adapter for the plug in the computer.

    It is a good drive for its time and good enough to satisfy me.

    This is an iPod drive that for a short time the computer world used. It is small but has a decent spin rate for small computers(laptops at 7200rpm). It was a good order and the drive is faster than its predecessor. It is prone to a small capacity but they all are at 1.8" compared to 2.5" HDD. It runs my i7 perfectly… Thank-you

    Good value product, serves the purpose as a replacement part.

    In general, this is a solid buy. These hard drives break easily when the units they're mounted in are subjected to force. In HP EliteBooks, they're mounted without any padding against the external plastic panel, so they don't absorb shock very well. These drives are not particularly fragile, but like any mechanical part they will break down if you bash them around.

    this is a good size hd and quality

    this was a big jump in storage from 80gb. the hdd was easy to install. it runs very smooth, an quite. the use of a bigger hdd has made running the pc much better and faster
