Nice shovel!
This is a specialty shovel, and it comes with a specialty price tag. No surprises there. It is very well built and works great for cutting plugs in the grass while metal detecting. So much easier than using a hand spade. This will get you down about 6" on the first cut and its very easy to go deeper by removing some more dirt. Weight is not bad for a steel shovel. The length is maybe a bit short for optimum comfort while digging (I'm 6'2" and I have to bend over slightly to use it). But the nice thing about the length is that it doesn't drag while I'm walking. This would be a 5-star shovel if the price was more reasonable. Overall its a great tool for a price that I can live with.This is a specialty shovel, and it comes with a specialty price tag. Lesche Sampson is great shovel for metal detecting
The lesche Sampson shovel of 31 inches in length makes it easy to did hole without getting down on your knees. The blade cuts threw roots and tough ground with little effort. You can cut a nice plug which you can replace like new. The shovel is not to heavy to carry and not to big as to draw attention. With this shovel you can dig a deeper hole quicker and with less effort than hand shovel. Great digger
Don't even think about buying a box store type digging tool , even though the price is tempting. I bought this shovel for metal detecting and it serves this purpose well. Very well made but lite and strong at the same time , easy to carry for hours. This thing has no problem cutting through roots to get down to your target. I also bought Lesche's small digging tool great as well!!! Built to last!!!Don't even think about buying a box store type digging tool , even though the price is tempting. Pretty hard core shovel
I just finally got a chance to use this. I do a lot of woods hunts and have used all kinds of digging tools and shovels. This thing is a monster. It seems to terror through everything and feels ten times more durable than everything else. Life sure would have been easier if I bought one sooner. Much like a good pin pointer this too will shorten time recovering items.

if your looking to save your back while digging your plugs for metal detecting this is the lesche for you. i purchased one and couldn't have spent my money better. i have taken it out multiple times and you cant even tell its used. Great quality.
