Very High Quality Sound For Cheap Plastic Speaker Price
My son has this entire 5.1 system in his bedroom. I just bought a new computer and have played hell trying to find a high quality, small system with semi-audiophile quality. I got the Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 and the sub is small, 36 watts RMS and kicks butt. The problem is the sats are small, cheap and don't sound very good. I borrowed a pair of these MLT-2s from my son's room, hooked them up to the Cambridge sub (to their credit, the Cambridge sats are not hardwired like most computer speakers. They connect to the sub just like a receiver). The sound is fricking fantastic! True hi-fi with only $160 invested. I defy anyone to find a better, high quality setup. I have to say I got the Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 for half off ($75) because it was open box. I bet if you contacted them you might ... My son has this entire 5.1 system in his bedroom. Center speaker is top value, easy to recommend the entire classy system.
I can only rate the center channel speaker which I bought separately, but I think this may help. 12 inches wide, 4 1/4 inches high and 5 1/4 inches deep, plastic enclosure. 1 inch tweeter, two 3 1/2 inch speakers, not 4 1/2 inch as the description says. It is hard to get a 4 1/2 inch speaker in a 4 1/4 inch case! The case is well made with good heft, like my Bose cubes which I bought this to go with. I replaced my Bose VCS-10 center with this to get a smaller footprint and a more natural sound of dialogue to compliment my whole system. It does that in spades! A beautiful full natural sound, wide enough and not a trace of tinny. Elegant even. In the MLT-2 system the surrounds have one of these drivers and the same tweeter. That would sound super I am sure. I know the sub would be perfect as ... A very classy accurate sound to this and I have a new appreciation for the little MartinLogan badge on the grill. This center plays as loud as my Bose and has extra Heart to it. Plus the tweeter is tops. Exactly what I wanted. Astonishing how that clear sound comes from a small speaker, but I am used to that with my Bose cubes. This is set up in my bedroom, where accuracy really matters with HDTV and dialogue. My other system is brute force but quality for my rocker moods. I highly recommend this speaker, I love it. Just a little update to my review. I have now got the entire MLT-2 system that I bought in parts. It is the best I have ever heard. For the price of a top end soundbar you get so much more! The sub is super! The system is full range and super high resolution. Compact and beautiful. That is my opinion, I hope it helps.

Very nice system for the price!
Rating primarily based on price, which was a really good deal! For a small to mediaum sized room.., this system is fine, and has plenty of power. Comparing it to much more costly set-ups is just silly. I'm using this as a secondary surround-sound area, and very pleased with it.

good construction and great sound
It's an excellent speaker, sounds clean, detailed and dynamic; there is, of course, a power handling limitation, but, overall, it's a great speaker.
