With an aperture range of f/3.5 - 5.6, the Canon EF USM F/3.5 allows you to capture bright outdoor photos. The 18 to 75-degree angle coverage of this 28 mm lens facilitates standard format pictures. The Image stabilization feature helps to capture sharp images using the 28 mm lens even when there are jerks. With a construction of 16 elements in 12 groups, this Canon IS lens provides superior quality images. The 72 mm filter protects the Canon EF USM F/3.5 from dust and graze.

    Canon EF 28-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS Lens

    I use this lens as my walk around lens on a Canon 20D. The Image Stabilization works great and adds at least a stop in low light for hand held pictures. This lens is well built with USM for fast auto focus. The images I get with this lens match up optically to the L lens I use and that is why it is on my camera more then the rest. My L lens are used for wildlife and scenic photography and this is used for my people shots, close up's of flowers, and walking around. This lens lets you focus up close and you have almost a macro lens when used at 135mm. If you are on a limited budget this lens is a best buy and the most value for your money.     Probably The Best Walk Around Lens There IS

    I recently purchased this lens, and have absolutely no regrets about it. This lens focuses extremely fast, and is super quiet. The photos come out awesome in both sharpness and color. I could not be happier. Haveing no L lenses I can't compre it to them, but I find it hard to believe that they would be that much better then this one as far as quality of the photos are concerned. I have tried it in all lighting situations, and yes the IS system really does help in low light situations. The range of this lens covers most shooting areas (28-135mm)that anyone will encouter, especially with the 1.6 crop factor taken into consideration on the Rebels and 10/20/30Ds (makes it a 45-216mm).     Really Good Walk Around Lens

    The Canon EF-S 18-135 IS is a worthy addition any Canon camera with the smaller APC sensor. The quality of the lens is very good and the price is great too. It also takes great pictures. It is a lens with a focal length that lets you keep it on your camera almost all of the time. It covers such a wide range of zoom and close ups, that you will find yourself using this lens most, if not, all of the time. I leave mine on all of the time. The image stabilization works really well in low ligh situations. It really takes the shake out of night photos. If you are looking for an almost one lens solution for your Canon camera, then this just may be the lens you are looking for.

    smooth lens and great features

    This lens is now my new favorite. If you're used to a smaller/non-bulky lens, it can be a little intimidating to get used to using but once you do, you will not be disappointed. It's easy to switch out with other lenses. The focus is sharp and the zoom is great. It's smooth in adjusting and gives a lot of options on what kind of image you're going for. The only downside for me so far, is with the autofocus (if not using manual), it can take what feels like forever before it actually focuses. It focuses for a split second and then slowly.......... adjusts and refocuses once again. I feel like it takes a minute but id said in the range of up to 30 sec depending on the lighting and whatnot. I'm not an aficionado in photography, still learning, so pardon if this doesn't help a lot of people, ...

    Canon's best value all-purpose lens

    Canon's 28-135mm IS is a great lens even if you buy it on it's own... but it becomes and incredible deal when bought as part of a D40 kit. The first thing that is noteable about the 28-135 is that it is not a kit lens, and it is not an EF-S lens. This lens was designed to work on full-frame cameras, including film cameras, the 5D and the 1Ds series. That means it is also a good choice for a 1D series camera (with the 1.3X crop). Of course it can also be used with the 1.6X crop EF-S compatible cameras like the Digital rebel, 30D and 40D. I've owned this lens twice now, once some years ago before a switch to Nikon, and now I own it again having bought the D40 kit which included it. I find myself using it all the time, and in fact I sold my 24-105mm f/4L because I felt the 28-135 was close ...
