  • Awesome Book!

I just finished this book and it upsets me because the stories were fantastic and told honestly. I really get a sense that Mr. Allman is just as fantastic at writing books as he is at writing, composing, and playing music. I really enjoyed the rawness of his story. I feel like I was allowed to read his private journals because the story divulged so much information and never did he try to downplay his role in wrongdoing. I feel more connected by having read it and I always appreciate anything that makes me feel like I have learned lessons vicariously through the author. I sure hope one day that I can call him Gregory and congratulate him on this fantastic piece!

  • Excellent Read!

Excellent, very informative read... but there *are* several inconsistentcies in it that vary greatly from what is said in Galadrielle Allman's book about the very same events that were gathered from different sources that were there and lived it. Personally, I just chalked some of this different info up to being during the time period that Greggory pretty much stayed messed up & drunk constantly, so his memory of these events most likely wasn't very clear of them.

  • It's like Gregg is talking to you.

I had read the biography of the band and wanted more of Gregg's input so this hit the spot. Very candid. It reads like he's talking to you, very conversational. It is exactly what I hoped the book would be.

  • loser

Let's see......... Duane Allman wore ladies panties to avoid the draft. Gregg Allman shot himself in the foot to avoid the draft. Gregg claims to "know" God but uses His name in vain through out the book and there is no mention of knowing Jesus. Men who avoid the draft have no right to become popular millionaires in our society. If this is your "thing" buy the book. If you have any integrity avoid it.

  • Perfect title

I love this book, actually it replaces the book I had that was lost during moving. There are few books that I buy, this one made the cut. Such a pleasure to view history from the inside.
