Inspired by the March 2007 CGI film, TMNT takes the fearsome foursome through a series of acrobatic battles amidst the dark and gritty streets, sewers, subways, and rooftops of New York City. To faithfully capture each turtle's signature fighting moves and athletic prowess, developer Ubisoft Montreal designed the game with the same "Jade" graphics engine used in the acclaimed Prince of Persia series on home consoles. The heroes in a half-shell will confront enemies new and old, including the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragon Street Gang, and monstrous creatures loyal to the film's antagonist, Max Winters.<br><br>Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are all playable despite the combat-oriented action being strictly reserved for solo gamers. Each character offers an assortment of attacks using his trademarked weapon, from Raphael's Sai throw to Michelangelo's nunchuck face slap, and can block or evade impending blows. Navigating each level involves jumping from rooftop to rooftop, climbing buildings, diving into sewers, and more, with new areas unlocked by performing temporary tag-team moves with a computer-controlled character. TMNT is the first game in the franchise to be published by Ubisoft, who acquired the license from Konami in January 2006.

The first thing I must get out of the way is this is not like the console versions. While there are some brawling sections in each level, the game is focused on traversing the city. Through a series of jumps, slides, and swings, the player is tasked with getting through a given section of the game. The face buttons are mapped to either different directional jumps or contextial actions. I say "contextual" because it varies depending on the object you are jumping to. If it is a slanted roof or sections of the sewer, you slide or rather surf until you get to the end of the platform. If it is a pole, you swing like a gymnast until you are prompted to jump from it. When on ropes you swing like Tarzan. In all cases you are given a colored circle of light indicating the place you are to jump to. ... In the above examples it is a flashing orange which turns blue when you are to release the button and leap. These actions are mapped to the X button, while Square, Circle, and Triangle are jump left, right, and foward respectively. As you may have guessed the prompting circle of light is a constant blue. The shoulder buttons and select are not used. There is an engaging rythm in this acrobatic gameplay when you get the timing down, and believe me, timing matters. It flows gracefully when you hit the correct button in the middle of the jump. The problem is it is sometimes difficult to see the next place due to the camera or judge the direction of it accurately. This isn't often as the camera will adjust most of the time when needed. This one thing aside, the game throws alot of variety at you both in the the contextual actions and the brawling section. You also have areas where you must catch up to a turtle brother so he can throw you to a place you couldn't otherwise get to. There are also different paths in each level. This gives the game replay value. While there are pick-ups they are moot as most of them are directly in the paths of your jumps. It's a new take on platforming and for those who can get into the flow of it a good one. If you're looking for a beat'em up like the old school turtle titles go for the other handhelds. If you're willing to try something new go for this. It may not be for everyone but you might find it right for you.

AWESOME GAME
TMNT - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game from unisoft, Excellent game especially if you are a fan of teenage mutant ninja turtles. This is a excellent game following up with the upcoming movie. Great action gameplay with great graphics. A nice story line to follow and a lot of action. Recommended for all

Great game for my child. The game is a dynamic and content acceptable to play. The game has good graphics and game management is not too difficult for children.

Great for kids
Great game for the PSP for kids ages 4-10. I would recomend it to any one. Its very hard to find childrens games for the PSP. You would not be disappointed and your child will not be bored. Hard to find game. Looked everywhere................

TMNT - For children and adults
TMNT - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Brought to you after the movie. It is a great game if you or your children enjoy TMNT. Easy to play and follow along makes this a great game for adults or children.
