Synopsis
The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine! With Robert Jordan's untimely passing in 2007, Brandon Sanderson, the New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn novels and the Stormlight Archive, was chosen by Jordan's editor--his wife, Harriet McDougal--to complete the final volume in The Wheel of Time®, later expanded to three books. In A Memory of Light , the fourteenth and concluding novel in Jordan's #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, the armies of Light gather to fight in Tarmon Gai'don, the Last Battle, to save the Westland nations from the shadow forces of the Dark One. Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, is ready to fulfill his destiny. To defeat the enemy that threatens them all, he must convince his reluctant allies that his plan--as foolhardy and dangerous as it appears--is their only chance to stop the Dark One's ascension and secure a lasting peace. But if Rand's course of action fails, the world will be engulfed in shadow. Across the land, Mat, Perrin, and Egwene engage in battle with Shadowspawn, Trollocs, Darkfriends, and other creatures of the Blight. Sacrifices are made, lives are lost, but victory is unassured. For when Rand confronts the Dark One in Shayol Ghul, he is bombarded with conflicting visions of the future that reveal there is more at stake for humanity than winning the war. Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read. Since 1990, when Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time(R) burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World , readers have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over forty million copies in over thirty languages. A Memory of Light is the fantastic conclusion to the internationally-bestselling epic fantasy juggernaut. The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork. With The Gathering Storm (Book 12) and Towers of Midnight (Book 13) behind him, both of which were #1 New York Times hardcover bestsellers, Sanderson now re-creates the vision that Robert Jordan left behind in A Memory of Light . Edited by Jordan's widow, who edited all of Jordan's books, A Memory of Light will delight, enthrall, and deeply satisfy all of Jordan's legions of readers. The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. • A must read book, and series, for fantasy readers.

Those of us who have read the whole series have been waiting a long time for the final book, and Sanderson has delivered with a very satisfying end to this epic saga of good vs evil. I could not put this book down once I started reading it, and Sanderson did an excellent job of maintaining the integrity of characters and tying up most, if not all, of the loose ends that this massive series has produced. One note for the reader, the way the very end plays out will make more sense if you remember the scene in one of the previous books where Rand and Moridin (Ishmael) cross their streams of balefire. At least I thought there was a connection there. I absolutely recommend this book to any who have been reading the series. For those of you who have not yet, I urge you to begin with "A New ...

  • Could'nt put it down..

Well after 21 years its finally here. The final volume in Rands' tale. I read this last book with equal amounts of joy and sadness. While eager to discover how it all will finish, I was also sad because these wonderful characters will now disappear forevermore. As for the the book itself, I found it completely enjoyable. Brandon Sanderson seamlessly melds his style/vision with R Jordans for a compelling last volume bringing all the WOT elements to very satisfying finale. I think all WOT fans will be satisfied with AMOL. A solid recommendation for the novel and two thumbs up for the concluding volume in WOT. Thank You Mr. Jordan for bringing this story to life and Mr. Sanderson for picking up the standard after Jordans demise and bringing it home for the rest of us. Bravo.

  • Very-very long and equally uncompelling.

It's been a challenge to keep at these books, each one dragging on and on, in hope of some relief. But no. There's too much detail about things and characters of little matter to the story. Does it make that much difference if t\five or seven imaginary warders take part in an event that didn't happen? I'm hanging on to the sour end in hope some of the characters will find the grim deaths deserved after so many thousands of pages of reader torture.
