NARRATED BY RENEE RAUDMAN I borrowed this book from a friend who said it was a good diet that promotes a vegetarian diet and lifestyle. I need more healthy foods in my diet. The book is written in some very blunt language which the authors describe as "tough-love." This does not appeal to everyone. This diet is mostly fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and organic snacks. It blares a warning to us about the health dangers of eating some of the foods we are now filling our bodies with....you know, fast foods, fatty snacks...things we all love. The authors are very anti-food chemical and want you to eat only organic. I agree organic is probably a whole lot healthier for you, but a lot more expensive. This diet may not be convenient for some people to follow depending on where you ... The authors admit that they don't eat perfectly vegan all the time.....so is there a Burger King nearby? There is advice in the book on promoting your own self esteem, health, and happiness. I think it all boils down to what you personally want for your body and your life. I am not vegetarian but have decreased red meats to once a month. Sometimes a veggie meal suits me just fine. You have to do what makes you happy......not what someone else is telling you will make you happy.

It WORKS!
Even though the authors express graphic views on the benifits to being a Vegan it is still worth the read/listen! I came into this book for the title of it and I needed a slap of reality since my best friends will lie and say..."oh, you look great!" I read the reviews and knew that it was going to have a vegan approach to it...however, its not totally saying you have to be vegan to lose weight. It IS the slap of reality that most people need, or at least I feel it is. I am by no means vegan nor am I now after this audio-book. I do think about what I eat now before I put it in my body and make more healthy food choices. I have significantly reduced my red meat intake and lowered my chicken and fish and dairy as well. I would say I eat fruit or fruit smoothie for breakfast, salad or sandwich for lunch maybe both sometimes and dinner I try for at least 3 total veggie dinners a week (the cookbook is a great help for ideas). I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and I have not started any exercise yet. You do need to have your family or significant other to support you in your life style change to benifit. (yes, you need to look at it as a life style change and NOT a diet.) If my hubby did not join me in this I am certain that I would have failed already. Its just to hard to make separate dinners for everyone. Anyways, the audio-book is great and if you at least cut down on portions and/or cut out a few vice items you'll lose weight too. The narrator could have had a little more enthuiasm and energy but over all it was not boring and I did not want to stop the cd. If you are serious about losing the weight and/or being healthy this is the book for you! If you need that WAKE-UP call to get your butt motivated, again this is the book for you. These are my opinions, and it did work for me. I am sure everyone will be different in their weight loss but DO NOT give up. Keep at it at least 30days and if your still not happy try something else. I hope this helps some of you reading it. Good luck in your weight loss goals!

Like the CD, Narrator is not Great
I like this and am glad they put it on CD, but the person who is READING the content is doing just that READING, and I can hear every comma and period. It is a little distracting because it is a funny book but, it doesn't seem like the narrator totally gets it. Still good content, smart and illuminating. Time saving getting the information in this format.

SUPER FANTASTIC,BRILLIANTGreat CD set and naration... The content is narated in a very helpful and understanding manner and great sense of humor. A must for any one that is interested to imporve their health.

This item was very informative. being vegan I already knew some of it. I have just started eating as suggested. Fruit for breakfast. I also try to make sure that I am eating smaller meals. I love this audiobook. It is awesome.
