    HRM good classroom text

    I purchased this book for a PHR review course. It's a great book but is not all inclusive for the exam. This book gives many insights regarding the items on which you will be tested. Unfortunately you will need to use additional resources to fill in the gaps in order to prepare for the exam and pass it. For instance, if you are looking up a regulation or law it will be broken into several areas of the book--but it may not give you all that you need to know about that topic but you won't know that until you've hunted for it and then get online to learn more. Also, each chapter has a short quiz and I wish they had more questions. Another thing, I purchased the 11th edition because it was "required" but it was not much different from the 10th edition.     Disappointed

    I bought Human Resource Management because it is the required textbook for a course I am taking this semester. I am disappointed. The text is full of grammatical errors which makes it difficult to stay focused on the content. But then again, the content is lacking as well. Perhaps this is owing to the introductory nature of the book, but I was hoping for more in-depth discussion of the topics. As is, it appears the authors have attempted to fill in a quota of pages since much of the content is redundant. In addition, the examples are most often anecdotal and rarely backed up by quantitative data. It is relevant to note that I am not an HR major nor professional. Perhaps this is typical of this type of text.

    HR Book for class

    I bought this book over three weeks ago for a class that I am taking. I impressed with how easy this book is to read and there is a wealth of information that is very relevant to the class that I am taking. I can easily see why the teacher recommends this book for class. I would also recommend this book for anyone who is teaching HR as a class. Everything you need to know about the HR field in in this book.

    The Keeper Book

    I tell you this boook is a keeper. I am talking about a book that is easy to understand all concepts and real life expereinces that are applied to every day life. I love this book so much,that I plan to go back and review some of the chapters after my class is over. If you are going into HR, this is the book to purchase. Have a great day!!

    Human Resource Management - 11th Edition

    I needed this book for a human resources course I am taking. The book gives up to date examples of techniques used by current companies. It will be a reference to keep around well after I have completed my courses.
