Best balancer made, other types are nowhere close.
I know many say, a nail works just fine, while it is cheap, and it can help some, it can also be way off. The tapered balancer also is better than nothing, but if you really want to be accurate, nothing comes close to the mag-1000. Since I have an electric riding mower, the spindles are the motors, and motors cost a whole lot more than spindles, so keeping the blades balanced could save you 100's of dollars in repairs. Even on a standard riding mower, having balanced blades could extend the life of the spindles by years! The manual taught me something I(and 99.9% of others) never thought about, there is horizontal balance and verticle balance. 99.9% will just use horizontal balance, which in most cases, is ok, but the blade can still be slightly out of balance. The adjustable rod on the unit is very easy to use, and it will tell you if a blade is bent. While a tiny bit is ok, being to far out can be a problem. ps, before checking a used blade, be sure to remove all build-up, as this unit is very accurate, and just a few blades of dried grass can skew the results. Also, do not mount this balancer next to a door, window or where air is blowing on it or from the heat or ac, blowing air can make the blade turn!

Very precision type of instrument,and quality is well above anyone else's standard for this portable and highly accurate unit. It is smooth does balance my blades to perfection. No vibration when blades are running at high speeds!! This is super important to protect longevity of spindles! This thing saves me money in the long run,cause, spindles survive to its longest potential. Each time I mow I have 6 blades running in my 2.25 acre property. Since blades are sharpened,and balanced to perfection,that my lawn looks fantastic!! Easy to use and diagnostic tool for bent blades or imbalanced blades! EXCELLENT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT,THAT MAY COST MORE THAN AVERAGE.....BUT,WILL DEFINITELY SAVE ME A LOT OF MONEY IN THE MANY YEARS THAT IT WILL BE CONTINUALLY USED!!Very precision type of instrument,and quality is well above anyone else's standard for this portable and highly accurate unit. Just buy it!!
This is the only way to balance your mower blades.. Simple and easy. The adjustable cone and the super strong holding magnetic asures that the blade will not fall off. This unit is so precise in balancing your blades you will not believe your eyes. Just look at a YouTube demo and see first hand. Money well spent. It will last a life time.

If you're the type that likes things done right, this is the tool for you. Tool will adapt to many different blade mounting hole diameters. It is a quick process with the cone and extra strong magnet used to hold the blade while balancing is being performed. Mounts easily to the wall of your garage or shop. The added alignment bar will quickly let you know if your blades are bent. This is a very high quality tool you'll be proud to have in your shop. Glad I bought this. Well built and precise!!
After using cheap a cone balancer for years, I decided it was time to invest in a good one. Following the research I did, this looked to be the most precise and highly reviewed one out there. After mounting it, I tried a few of my freshly sharpened and balanced (?) blades. All were fairly close but this balancer really showed they needed work. After balancing all my blades I decided to see just how sensitive it is. I put a small piece of painters tape on one end and sure enough it showed it was heavy, pretty impressive!! It is with out a doubt very well made and is professional quality. If you're on the fence about spending the extra money, believe me it's worth it!!
