    Emotional Vampires by Albert J. Bernstein (2002)

    This book finally validated my emotions. I married into a family with rampant personality disorders. Bernstein's descriptions fit in every detail and I finally felt understood. The headaches, the annoyance, etc. I felt were finally pin pointed. The private attacks against me and the openly justifying their destructive behavior towards me by saying I misunderstood, etc. It all made sense and I realized I had been dealing with it as if they had "normal" feelings and "normal" intellects. This is not the case with personality disorders, they do not operate from a "normal" point of being. Their motivation is selfish and manipulative in every way, having the emotional level of a two year old. That is what I had often felt but it was not validated until I read Bernstein's book.     Emotional Vampires, Dealing w/people who drain you dry

    This book explores a variety of difficult personality types and how to deal with them. It was recommended to me by a friend who was dealing with an ex similar to mine. My ex, for example, is definitely a "narcissistic vampire" who thinks only about themself...everything is me, me, me. But they make you feel like it is you, you, you! This book was helpful in understanding where others are coming from and gives you ideas on how to deal with them. If nothing else, you can find support in knowing that other people have to deal with difficult personalities too. It's not you or your fault...it really is THEM! Other personalities covered include antisocial, histrionic, obsessive-compulsive, bullies, paranoid, passive-agressive. Written by a clinical psychologist in very understandable terms.

    Informative, easy to understand book about narcissitic personality disorder

    This is an informative book on the different types of narcissitic personality disorders. It explains the different types of disorders easily so that you can identify which category disorder you are dealing with in your personal life. Well written and humourous in the style of writing. I would recommend this book to amazon customers confused by these types of behaviours...
