Product Information

The accounts vary and the actual number will never be known, but the deaths of at least 36 women can be attributed to Theodore Robert Bundy. This biographical horror film begins in Seattle in 1974 where the duplicitous nature of Bundy (Michael Reilly Burke) becomes unmistakably evident. He is working as a polite crisis hotline volunteer, but his callers don't know that he is secretly a sexual deviant in a bow tie whose sexual desires become increasingly perverse until they culminate in his killing spree. Meanwhile, an unsuspecting girlfriend (named "Lee" in the film, this woman--played by Boti Ann Bliss--wrote a book about her life with Bundy under the alias Elizabeth Kendall) dotes on her lover, whose crimes would go unsolved for years. The film follows Bundy's murderous trail through two prison escapes and his eventual execution in Florida.This detailed account of Bundy's exploits contains chilling murder sequences and a dark sense of humor. The film ends with a memorably bleak execution scene which includes archival footage of the mob outside the prison. The subject matter is not new for distributor First Look, which also released DAHMER and ED GEIN. The latter benefited from the creative team of screenwriter Stephen Johnston and producers Hamish McAlpine and Michael Muscal, who reteamed on this project.

Ted Bundy 2002 DVD Movie
A very incorrect account of the serial killer Ted Bundy. The inaccuracies are numerous; beginning with the fact that Ted drove a tan VW bug, not a yellow one as depicted in the movie. Also, he wore a white turtlneck sweater to his lineup; not a gray one as depicted in the movie. There has never been any reports (police, civilian, etc.) that he was seen outside the window of his first victim, masturbating. This movie did not tell of his living victims other than the one he tried to kidnap at the mall. I can understand changing the names of his victims for their privacy reasons for the movie; yet the names are so well known through literature that it seems frivolous at this point. The movie portrayed Ted as a crazy man that no one trusted; he was, in fact, handsome and charming, easily ... A very incorrect account of the serial killer Ted Bundy. People need to understand that Ted only got away with as much as he did for as long as he did because of his charm, intelligence, and caring ways with people. He was not nearly as cruel to his girlfriend in their relationship as the movie portrays; otherwise he wouldn't have had her trust and unconditional love for as long as he did. She was not as weak and passive as the movie makes her out to be. She was a good person, who was convinced of Ted's innocence through love, charm, and many lies. All serial killers are not crazy people who stand out in a crowd. Ted killed as many as he did by being perfectly normal; even more than normal. He was politically active, studying to be a lawyer. If his chosen path had been different, he would have made a great lawyer someday. This movie was far too short and inaccurate to actually glean any learning of who Ted Bundy was. The original movie, "The Deliberate Stranger" starring Mark Harmon, is a far better portrayal of who Ted Bundy really was. If you are looking to actually learn about Ted Bundy, my best reccommendation would be to read Ann Rule's "The Stranger Beside Me." It's by far the most accurate and informative read on the market about Ted Bundy. The one highlight of this movie is that the actor portraying Ted Bundy, Michael Burke, did indeed resemble Ted physically. Beyond that, this movie is trite and incorrect; it's sensationalized for viewers to attract an audience. Two thumbs down.

Disturbing Story of a Rapist Serial Killer
Ted Bundy was a diabolical killer. This film is both disturbing and informative of a man who loved to rape unconscience women. The scenes where he knocked them out and then had sex with them were very disturbing, but if that's the kind of diabolical man he was, then I applaud the movie's brutal honesty. I didn't realize before watching this movie, what a sick human being he was. In all the interviews I had seen with him, he seemed like your average ordinary Joe. But his secret life from Seattle all the way down to Florida kept popping up in the media wherever he moved to proving that he was indeed guilty of these crimes, regardless of his charm and denial of these crimes.
