A great film for Martin Luther King Day!
This is a very good family film that teaches the power of non-violent protest, as well as sticking with your principles even if the going gets rough. The story is simple: A nice old man named Jake has allowed the local kids to have a secret clubhouse on his land and play there. In fact, at least 3 generations of locals have used the clubhouse and added various treasures to it. Problem is, the area is now gentrifying and a greedy developer is trying to manipulate the system to get his hands on Jake's land. The kids, meanwhile, are learning about the Mongomery Bus Boycott in school. So they decide to put Dr. King's principles into action and stage a non-violent protest: NO MORE BATHS, because "This stinks and so will we!" I won't spoil the ending, but it is a happy one. But all in all, it's worth viewing with your kids. That is, if you are ready to have them challenge your sincerity on the things you claim to stand for!

You Go KIDS!!!
This is a great teaching movie on how to protest injustice for anyone, adult and children alike. I highly recommend this film! The kids in this movie learn alot from their friend, Jake, and their incredible teacher on how to fight against injustice, even if the "bad guys" are your own parents. They also learn how to protest peacefully, effectfully and without hurting anyone. The love the kids have for Jake is very evident, especially in their attempts to save Jake and his home. The scene showing the outside of their clubhouse will make every kid wish they had a clubhouse just like it. On second thought, to heck with kids, I wish I had a clubhouse like that; it is truly an awesome sight to see! Entertainment, education, for my granddaughters.
It is hard to find something that I can watch with my granddaughters. Their mother is very fussy, which I believe is appropriate, especially with an autistic but extremely bright and talented daughter. My granddaughter has 2 grandmothers who have participated in public protest; yes, that includes me. How to make her understand that grandmother was not being evil when she did so. Non violent protest can be very appropriate. I have probably learned more from this movie than she did. Very educational, and even inspirational! And sooooo fun! What a combination! Even my granddaughters mom and dad found themselves watching it!It is hard to find something that I can watch with my granddaughters. Love this movie
My children have watched this movie many times. I now show it to my students when possible. The message about being your 'bothers keeper' is needed. Students really enjoy the no bathing aspect.

Enjoyable and Funny.
I love my No More Baths DVD because it shows that standing up for your beliefs to help a friend, and non-violent protests can make a difference in a community.
