À propos de ce produit

Product Information

My name is Ree. Some folks know me as The Pioneer Woman. After years of living in Los Angeles, I made a pit stop in my hometown in Oklahoma on the way to a new, exciting life in Chicago. It was during my stay at home that I met Marlboro Man, a mysterious cowboy with steely blue eyes and a muscular, work-honed body. A strict vegetarian, I fell hard and fast, and before I knew it we were married and living on his ranch in the middle of nowhere, taking care of animals, and managing a brood of four young children. I had no idea how I'd wound up there, but I knew it was exactly where I belonged. The Pioneer Woman Cooks is a homespun collection of photography, rural stories, and scrumptious recipes that have defined my experience in the country. I share many of the delicious cowboy-tested recipes I've learned to make during my years as an accidental ranch wife-including Rib-Eye Steak with Whiskey Cream Sauce, Lasagna, Fried Chicken, Patsy's Blackberry Cobbler, and Cinnamon Rolls-not to mention several "cowgirl-friendly" dishes, such as Sherried Tomato Soup, Olive Cheese Bread, and Crème Brûlée. I show my recipes in full color, step-by-step detail, so it's as easy as pie to follow along. You'll also find colorful images of rural life: cows, horses, country kids, and plenty of chaps-wearing cowboys. I hope you get a kick out of this book of mine. I hope it makes you smile. I hope the recipes bring you recognition, accolades, and marriage proposals. And I hope it encourages even the most harried urban cook to slow down, relish the joys of family, nature, and great food, and enjoy life.

  • Easy As Pie, and a Great Read

This is a must have cookbook for every kitchen and library. I read through the book before we ever started making any of the recipes. The recipes are easy (my eleven year old made the french puffs, which by the way taste like the mini donuts you get at your local county fairs) and the pictures are priceless. The potatoe and leek pizza is absolutely amazing. Have adapted the recipes for our families allergy; ie: dairy products, by replacing ingredients with soy milk, and soy cheeses, no dairy butter, etc. with great results. While this is not a recipe of low-fat, low sugar foods---if eaten in moderation coupled with salads and fresh fruit; anyone can eat! If you are balking at the price, the best $30 you will spend in a long time.

  • The Pioneer Woman Cooks-Absolutely Love It!

This cookbook is beautifully presented. In addition, it has such personality! Not the descriptive word you normally associate with a cookbook, I know. Okay, the recipes are great basic down home, cowboy-friendly, rich-in-family heritage recipes with wonderful 1,2,3 detailed steps and pictures to help you achieve outstanding results. But even more than that, I feel like I made a friend in this book. Ree Drummond combines her love of family, her deep admiration of ranch life, her considerable ability to "paint" an image with words, her cowgirl humor, her culinary skills and her dazzling talents as a photographer to capture this wonderful homespun country experience. I found my daughter-in-law's copy irresistable and had to have my own. It's more than a cookbook; it's a breath of ...

  • A wonderful cookbook with easy to follow recipes, light humor, luv for family

Rea makes you feel so comfortable, like she's a friend or someone you would love having as a close friend. Her recipes are simple, quick, healthy & so easy to prepare. I consider myself a well experienced cook, having raised 2 children & now cooking for my grandchildren but found the author's insights quite helpful. Her book would also make an excellent bride to be gift.

  • beautiful book, tasty recipes, fun reading too!

I bought this book after seeing it at a friend's house. Usually I just make a few photocopies of the recipes I like or think I will use, but there were too many in this book! I had to buy it! We live on a ranch, so her recipes will be perfect for our family suppers or for the whole branding crew! I can't wait to try them! The only thing I dislike about the book is the cover, it is very very nice, I just can't help but think how it will look in a few months when it's been sitting out on the countertop while I'm cooking!!! Other than that, this is a great book with beautiful photos and witty little sayings from the author that made me laugh.

  • The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond

I bought this cookbook for my mom as a Mother's Day gift. I took advantage of the 2-day shipping option for $3.99. Two hours after my mom opened the book she called me to tell me how much she absolutely LOVED the cookbook! She had been engrossed in the cookbook, just reading recipes, looking at the pictures and reading all the comments and stories by the author. As my mom said, referring to Ree Drummond, "Oh, she is just a doll! You will love this cookbook too!" This cookbook came highly recommended to me by the local author of several cookbooks. It is also on my Mother's Day wish list. LOL
