Humming Right Along
I am more than pleased with these feeders. They have a little rail in front of each plastic blossom for the birds to rest as they eat. Surprisingly, some continue to fly and eat at the same time which is remarkable. There is also an ant guard on the top. It's simply an indentation in the lid above the hanging eyelet in which you fill with water. I would definitely recommend more than one feeder if you get more than five or six birds at a time and in general, I recommend these feeders altogether. Get yours now!!!! lol I purchased two of these and hung them on my patio. I don't know how exactly, and it took a few days at first, but a hummingbird found it after 4 days of seemingly no activity. Now, a couple weeks later, I have two hummingbirds that are regular visitors. It takes a few times ... I am more than pleased with these feeders. It takes a few times of seeing them out of the corner of your eye before you actually spot them and are able to observe them at the feeder. I now know what to look for and can spot them with ease. I would highly recommend placing these feeders near a window so you can watch these fast little creatures. They are fascinating and amazing to watch. Fortunately, there's a large picture window about four feet from one of the feeders (the other about 6 feet away) and I have learned quickly to grab my camera and get a few pictures. That's not easy to learn though. You have to have the right shutter speed to get the wings visible without too much blur. Sufficient light helps. I've seen hummingbirds at all hours of the day, not just at sunrise and sunset as experts have noted. I've seen them at 10:30am, 5:30pm, 7:15pm and the usual- just after dawn and just before sunset. My nectar mixture must be pretty good to keep them coming back. Don't waste your $$ on store bought nectar colored red. The red dye is actually bad for hummingbirds so when I make my own, I do not add dye and the birds don't seem to care.....they keep coming back! If you don't know already, here's how to make cheap and really easy nectar: Three to four cups of water 1 cup sugar Some will tell you to heat the water in a pan to melt the sugar. What I've done is put a cup of sugar into a container with a water tight lid. I then add hot water from the tap- about two cups- put the lid on and shake the mixture until the sugar can't be seen. I then add another cup or two of cold water and shake once more. Don't fill the feeder up all the way if you don't have to- the amount would depend on how many hummingbirds you are getting. You can place any unused nectar in the fridge and use it when replacing the nectar in the feeder. Change the nectar every four to six days to keep it fresh. Change sooner if the weather is hot (above 90 degrees) or you notice any mold growing in the feeder. That happened to me in one feeder which I didn't think sugar water would produce mold. It does, evidently. When cleaning the feeder, use a mild dish soap and rinse thoroughly. If it's dish washer safe run it through once a month to sterilize it. If not dish washer safe or you have no dishwasher, soak the feeder in bleach water for 15-20 mins- 1 teaspoon bleach to a gallon of water- then wash with dish soap and rinse thoroughly. Keep the nectar fresh and the feeder clean and you're sure to get the hummingbirds to return year after year. I'm hoping I'll attract more in the near future and who knows, maybe I'll have to buy another one of these feeders! Good luck and have a great day!!!

Better Than I Expected!
The "issue" with other liquid hummingbird feeders which I've put up for the birds is that the nectar always seems to find a way to leak out near or around the base. Such is not the case with this wonderful feeder! It's east to fill and stays filled until our little feathered friends enjoy their sweet treat. By the way, if you're lucky enough to have bats flying around your house at night eating protoplasm (mosquitoes, etc.), they, too, like to take sips of this nectar. Decent product
I like these because the wind doesn't make them dump out all the nectar. The birds seem to love them too. Just wish the flowers didn't get brittle in the hot desert sun and break off after 6 to 8 months
