Great product worth every penny it costs.
If you have a doggie that sheds fur by the pound, you know a doggie that you can pluck big tufts of fluffy undercoat from while on a walk, one that literally ejects clumps of hair as it walks by, one that creates blizzard conditions when you brush it on a breezy day, this is the tool for you. It will dig the loose fur out from a dogs coat and reduce the amount that falls out on your floor, your furniture, your bed or what have you. They are very well made and durable. Caveat, I had a bad habit of dropping my first one which led to many broken teeth. With my current one I have been much more careful and it is holding up beautifully. Second caveat, they are maybe not so easy to use if your dog has a really kinky dense coat. One of my two sweet doggies has fine deep fur and the FURminator ... My girl however has really stiff kinky hair and it is harder to use than some other styles of hair brush. You also have be gentle using these as they are hard and sharp. Comb your doggie gently. Essential equipment for husky parents.

A valuable tool
While over priced in the conventional market, the Furminator still seems to be the best consumer use grooming tool out there. I'd like to see the build quality a bit better - more like the older models - but its not bad. The fur ejection button works pretty good and is a handy feature. The blade guard for storage is cheesy. A piece of aquarium air pump tubing sliced lengthwise works better. A note on application: FURminator recomends the long hair version for dogs with coats longer than 2". I disagree. The long works noticeably better than the short on dogs with coats of 1" or longer. The nature of the dog's coat will, of course, have an effect but the long version works much better on my Husky whose has what's called a racing coat; its approximately 1-1.25" long. The shorter ... Dirt and debris will collect between the teeth of the blade making it less effective and less comfortable for your dog. When purchased at discount the FURminator is a good value and it works. Its not perfect but its my tool of choice and I've tried a few others..

Furminator De-shedding comb for long haired dogs
Purchased this tool on Ebay from noveltyexperts. Read several reviews and thought I would give it a try. We have a Border Collie/Eskimo dog mix, long fluffy white hair and double coated. I could not believe how much undercoat the furminator removed in the first 5 minutes! Leaves your dog's coat smooth and soft. Easy to use, feels comfortable in your hand and the button that ejects hair from the comb in a big plus. Read the directions, groom 10 minutes or so using a light touch, no need to use pressure, the comb does the work. Not sorry I made this purchase, would highly recommend. Awesome Brush!! Works better than anything else!!!!
The Furminator dog brush works wonders!! I have bought several other dog brushes and the Furminator by far, works way better than anything else!! I am so glad that I heard about and bought this brush, it makes brushing my dogs so much easier and actually works for removing their undercoat!! I will never use another brush on them now, the Furminator is all you need!!!

Works like magic
I have a husky who is a constant shedder, and with a thick double coat there was no other grooming tool that works as well as the Furminator. I can consistently brush out a shopping bag full of hair each time I groom her fully (every 4 days) and using this tool has drastically cut down on the amount if loose hair in my home. A definite recommend for all pet owners in need of a top notch grooming tool but especially for those with heavy-shedding, thick-coated breeds.
