    Line 6 Bass Pod XT Pro

    This effects unit has everything you need to achieve great bass sounds. It has quality metal construction that mounts very well in your rack case and with a nice lcd screen that is easily seen from a distance. Editing and saving patches could not be easier and if you add the short board for patch and program changes you should be ready to go for any gigging situation. I prefer this over the xt live only because you can edit programs at eye level, if you don't need all the bells and whistles than the bass pod xt would be the cheapest and best alternative to get a really good bass tone.

    POD Pro XT - Nice Unit, but Line 6 is the worst!

    This is a fine unit that has tremendous functionality and given some time and effort there is almost no tone that cannot be extracted from this unit. Unfortunately Line 6 goes out of their way to make it an unpleasant experience. Unless of course your willing to fork over more money for software that other companies would give you for free, or at least substantially less than Line 6 charges. You shouldn't have to shell out hundreds of dollars for a unit followed by hundreds more for some software to get the most out of it. Line 6 is the worst, but the POD Pro XT is a good unit.

    Great sounds - a rental studio of guitar amps at your fingertips.

    I have the Pod Pro and I can tell you that it really works. I use it for recording and it gets the job done - straight into the board - no setting up amps and getting the right mike placement. If you don't have the manual, download it, because you will want to tweek the amp models a bit to get the sounds exactly the way you want them. Then you can save your patches to memory and call them back up any time you want - or write down the settings in the pilot's log that comes with the manual. If there is a criticism of this unit, it would be that it almost sounds too good.

    This product has become a staple in my rack...that is how awesome it is!

    I am absolutely biased, because I have been using Line 6 products for a number of years now. I own the POD X3 and use this primarily for studio work. However, I felt I needed to take this GREAT sound with me on the road and bought myself the POD XT Pro. The amp and cab sounds are astonishingly real, and this thing cranks out GREAT tone...especially through my Marshall 4x4 cab with Celestion 30 speakers. This is absolutely a great buy. If you find one...GET YOUR HANDS ON IT!!!

    Just a rack mount version of stomp box modeler with ability to use more than one effect at a time.
