Flatliners is a benchmark film in the supernatural thriller genre. Putting a face to the phenomenon of the near-death experience, this grotesquely dark picture works reasonably well until it goes from the macabre to the contrived. While crucial to its plot structure, the moralistic bend Flatliners takes toward its ending almost single-handedly undermines the film as a whole. Set in the Windy City, fertile ground for the film's eerie life-and-death concepts, director Joel Schumacher and cinematographer Jan de Bont bathe the screen in rich, rippling green tones to give the film a spooky, ethereal effect. Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, and Julia Roberts give sincerely paranoid performances in the lead roles and Oliver Platt and William Baldwin support them equally well. Schumacher can be ... Careful Who You Mistreat
Flatliners is far from flat..with a fantastic script and excellant acting, this movie delivers and delivers big time...I have always been fascinated by the hereafter..who wouldn't love to know what lies ahead for us after death?..Not sure I'd go to the extremes they do..Movie opens with rebel Kiefer Sutherland voicing his desire to die then come back all he needs is a little help from his Friends..will they help him? will they join him?? who, rather what will they bring back? the answers are in this movie..wanna watch it?? Finally
Well, it took me a bit but I finally found it and it was just too easy, almost making me feel like I stole it, Oh...but I didn't and finally I'm getting all my old movies back!!

Keeps you on edge of your seat & holding your breath!
It was very exciting. The storyline was plausible. When a person dies, he flatlines. Many see the light at the end of the tunnel. This story line takes a more negative look at the afterlife. I didn't like the way the storyline ended in the negative, perhaps making people more negative in their concept of dying rather than looking forward to the release of this temporary body and going into a happy eternal life.It was very exciting. assemblage of stars
One of the great all time movies featuring young versions of stars Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt. It is a suspensful thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat as young doctors experiment with cheating death. I've always loved this movie and decided to add it to my video collection. I don't want to ruin it for you but it is a must see!
