The C Level is an intermediate level of horsemanship. This C Level manual builds on material covered in The United States Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship: Basics for Beginners/D Level. Whether you are a Pony Clubber who has passed the D Level tests or simply a rider who has mastered the same basics, this manual will enable you to increase your skills and teach you what you must know in order to ride independently and correctly with good position, balance, and use of the aids on the flat, over fences, and in the open. At the intermediate level you are expected to take more responsibility for the care and management of your pony, and you will learn how to do this as well. In addition, you will learn the skills needed for conditioning and preparing your pony and yourself for competitions and special events. From the C Level, you may go on to higher Pony Club ratings such as B, H A, or A Ratings, or specialize in such disciplines as dressage, show jumping, eventing, and showing. Or you may just want to have the pleasure of caring for your horse or pony and participating in your favorite riding activities. Either way, The United States Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship: Intermediate Horsemanship/C Level will give you an excellent basis in horsemanship for the lifelong enjoyment of horses and horse sports.

    USPC Manual of Horsemanship C Level is awsome!

    I love reading this book. It has helped me sooo much in passing my ratings even though I'm only a D2.It is really important to study this manual even if you may be just a D. I'm trying to qualify to go to nationals in Quiz this year as a D2, and even last year as a D1 at last year's Quiz rally I noticed that studying the C manual really helped me and my team win first. Everyone on my team qualified for nationals in Quiz last year because we practically had the entire C manual memorized. (Technically 2 of us (including me) didn't qualify because we were only D1's, but the judges accidentally made the mistake of calling us up anyways, only to be reminded later that D1's aren't allowed to qualify for nationals.) The only subject it's missing that the judges always catch us on at Quiz is Fox ...

    Excellent manual for riding!

    All of the USPC books are excellent manuals for riding and instruction. Although the dialogue is written for young children, I often gift copies of these books to adults with the caveat that it's written with references to "ponies" and the "pony clubber". All of these manuals are wonderful at explaining everything from "this is a horse" up to building skills for Grand Prix jumping or Prix St. George Dressage tests. The foundation in knowledge, safety, concepts and follow-through that this book imparts is worth it's weight in gold. A must for any beginning rider or instructor or any seasoned rider wishing to improve their skills through insight and education.
