I would recommend for an entry level PDA. Even a bit beyond. We purchased 4 of these!!! One each for my husband and I and one for each of our boys (3 & 7). We got a Wireless internet card and it works great. Also what is nice is you can use up to a 2GB card and download a movie program that allows you to put a full movie on a SD card in only 700MB or less. We do that for our kids if we are taking longer car trips. We load 5-10 movies/shows on a card for each and plug in the earphones and they are set. The older child likes to play the games that are included on or that you can purchase additionally. So do we. It also works great as a music player!!! It's great that you can schedule appointments and tasks with reminders. It has alarm clocks. I LOVE the fact that it has Excel ... I would recommend for an entry level PDA. Even a bit beyond. It has To Do lists that help out too. I think the battery life is just fine. The ONLY drawback that I found is that it has MINIMUM storage capacity. You definately need a SD card or two to hold your photo's, songs etc... If you try to access certain web pages that have too much info on them, it shuts down because it doesn't have enough memory storage to open the page. You can't load too may programs either. I haven't run into too much problem with that myself as I am entry level and use it more for internet play and games with a reminder or TO DO here and there. My husband uses it in conjunction with his Franklin Covey planner. Also he uses it as his "MP3" player and tunes into radio stations at work. Later surfing the net for recipes in the kitchen or games scores for sports. Overall if you are looking for something entry-mid level, you should be satisfied!!! I'd recommend it with a 4.0 out of 5!!!

I bought the pocket PC to help myself get organized and to keep my schedules and lists in one safe place where i wouldn't have to worry about losing a bunch of pieces of paper. This model works great if you just want a simple PDA that can keep appointments, dates, task list, and phone book. However the draw back is that the communication port is an IR port and if you want bluetooth you have to buy a separate part for that. Similar to one I used for years. Like the fact that I can keep my appointments near the bed and look at it first think in the morning before I get out of bed and go to my computer or phone. I can keep notes, appointments, phone numbers, reminders and play games anywhere at anytime. Once this is charged up the battery last for hours and it fits in my pocket. It's a great back up for my laptop. Another wonderful feature is the alarm to remind you to keep that appointment or complete that task.Similar to one I used for years. My new PDA
I like most everything about the unit . I do not like that I have to use a stylus . I had to replace a PDA which I bought 30 years ago . I like the sync feature my old one did not have and when it stopped functioning I lost a lot of data . I would have preferred an iphone or a blackberry in order to have only one unit which stores all my contacts and also lets me make phone calls . I was not willing to spend $30.00 per month for Internet access which I never use . A simple unit for a simple guy , it doesn't get any better than that .I like most everything about the unit . This is one Handy Device
I bought the HP IPAQ a month ago, after having read extensively on palm devices. This one, for an older technology, got the best reviews for battery life and basic Windows for the Pocket PC functionality. I didn't want to put my whole life on my phone - I believe in keeping my email, contacts, calendar, etc. private. This thing syncs to my Windows Outlook 2007 on my PC, and allows me to seamlessly sync my email, calendar, to-do list, and more, PLUS I've got Word, Excel, and Windows Media Player right there! I do video production for a living, and I can drop my latest work on the IPAQ so that wherever I go, I've got my demo reel in my pocket. I purchased a 2gb SD card, and I've now got 2 gig for video, photos, PDFs (yes, there's a free PDF viewer available for ... It now holds a charge like a champ!
