In the tradition of Max Payne and Syphon Filter comes Dead to Rights, a story-driven third-person shooter divided into chapters rather than levels. Playing the role of Jack Slate, a man wrongly accused of murder, players will advance through a variety of gritty urban locales on a bloody path to discover those who framed him. A number of hostile people will try to prevent this from happening, so Slate will need to dole out punishment using a combination of fisticuffs and cold, hard steel.<br><br>Dead to Rights borrows a number of concepts popularized by Hong Kong cinema. Players can fire two guns at once, independently of one another, as well as perform slow-motion dives to avoid bullets and attack at the same time (similar to the ShootDodge feature in Max Payne). In addition, players can overtake enemies and use their bodies as shields, back up against walls, pivot, and return fire, as well as snap the necks of unsuspecting foes to steal their weapons.<br><br>While the action is played from a third-person perspective, Slate can switch to a first-person viewpoint at any time to target specific areas, such as headshots or other vulnerable body parts. Enemies react differently depending on where they are hit, so a shot in the leg may not be enough to stop them from attacking. As players progress through the game, they will engage in a number of boss fights to test their skills using Slate's assortment of moves and weapons.

Even the old XBOX beats the new PS3 3/9/09
Nothing delivers a vicarious thrill quite like a slick, big-budget action movie. Hollywood blockbusters like Face/Off and The Rock, or some of Hong Kong's finest like The Killer and A Better Tomorrow, put you right in the middle of intense modern-day shoot-outs between the goodest good guys and the baddest bad guys. Films like these are undeniably exciting, but they sometimes leave you wondering how on earth the good guys managed to beat those impossible odds. The answer is obvious--the movie isn't real. Of course, Namco's new Xbox shooter Dead to Rights isn't real, either. But if you've ever wondered what it might feel like to be the lone action hero up against a ridiculous number of enemies, this game is probably the closest you'll get anytime soon. In development for years, Dead to ... Nothing delivers a vicarious thrill quite like a slick, big-budget action movie. Overlooking its problems and getting past that learning curve certainly won't be, but if you manage to, you'll find that Dead to Rights is an intense and challenging game. Dead to Rights has no shortage of action. Dead to Rights is about a K-9 cop named Jack Slate, who does what he can to keep the peace in a criminal cesspool called Grant City. Early on, Slate and his trusty dog Shadow must investigate a mysterious construction site. There, Slate discovers that someone very close to him has been murdered. Against direct orders, he sets off to find some answers and get revenge. The game's story, told through Jack's deadpan narration and the occasional CG cutscene, seems pretty straightforward at first. But during the course of the game, it actually takes some decent twists and eventually becomes quite involving. The best that can be said for it is that, unlike most stories in games, this one does a commendable job of tying up all its loose ends before the credits roll. Actually, for a shooter, Dead to Rights is surprisingly long, consisting of well over a dozen big, action-packed chapters. Overlooking its problems won't be easy, but if you manage to, you'll find that Dead to Rights is an intense and challenging game. Immersive Shooter!!!
Pros + Play through situations like a burning building or being stuck in prison. You are a fugitive cop. + Being able to call upon your dog for help. He sure is handy. + Immersive story that unfolds throughout the game with some nice cutscenes here & there. Cons - Mini-games are frustrating not fun. - Shooting can be repetitive. - Some of the graphics aren't too pretty. Comments This is a good 3rd person shooter with some nice twists like being able to control your dog & command him to attack. This is one of the only games you get to go to prison in as well. Don't drop the soap!!! Verdict Fun game to pick up & play. GOOD GAME!
This is a very good game for the xbox.I could have bought this game for the ps2,but decided on the xbox version.I can tell you that it is action packed with a lot of good shooting sequences and fights.The wolf is a lot of help and alot of fun.This game is a little short but well worth the 5 or 10 bucks you will pay for it.Pay the small amount and get a very good game!

Game Review
So far I like this game. Reminds me of The Matrix movies and it says it was inpired by them. It is very fun and has good graphics for a older game and works great on xbox 360.
