Great American Poet
Every one of Jim Morrison's poems requires very deep thought on the part of the reader. Then you the reader may still not ever understand what Morrison is attempting to convey. Read them over and over. Listen to his music. Every word, thrilling, keeps you wanting more. This is History! Written by a true American & legendary poet, film maker and song writer. An educated man. I bought the book to keep as an investment. I will eventually donate them to my favorite library at a later date so others can share and enjoy Jim Morrison's excellent work. He died at age 27 on July 3, 1971 in Paris France. Jim Morrison's spirit will live on through his incredible writings.Every one of Jim Morrison's poems requires very deep thought on the part of the reader. What Jim Morrison Really Wanted to be know for
The book is very interesting. I know Morrison wanted to be know for his poetry more than anything else. You just can't deny, though, the fact that his poetry would be for naught if it weren't first set to music via The Doors. I have to admit it is a little uncomfortable reading some of the poems after reading a few biographies. It was like, too personal, or something. Plus, I wish I knew which poems were written "on the rooftop of a friends apartment" while he was taking copius amounts of LSD, and which poems were written in the later years. I see that Pam's parents helped with the publication, and I wish that the poems could have at least been dated by year. Be that as it may, as a huge Morrison fan, this book does not disappoint. I say this lovingly, though, (much how I feel ... The book is very interesting. I know Morrison wanted to be know for his poetry more than anything else. The poetry probably couldn't hold its own without the history of Jim Morrison as front man for The Doors to act as a preamble. Actually, looking back in time, I think the published poetry serves as great parting words to the avid Morrison fan, who has seen the movie,has read the biographies, has seen the tv appearances, and all other video footage. The poetry sort of says, "Hey, this is who I REALLY wanted to be."

Strange Days Still Find Us.
I read Morrison's writings over 35 years ago.Now having read these after all that time ,his work still is fresh and current!!

Great addition for any Morrison fan
Have loved his works since I was a teen in the late 80's! Used to have this book back then & lost it along the way. Something jogged my memory & i was happy to find it for such a great price <3
