    Nice, Basic LCD Monitor.

    I like this monitor quite a bit compared to my old CRT. The size is fine for me, and the resolution is good, not stellar, but it's not a high-dollar LCD. It's good and reliable though, and definitely not so much like a radiator heater like CRTs. Plenty of brightness, didn't require any special drivers to work correctly. Just pop it out of the box, plug it in, and turn it on. Just don't poke the screen; I got this one used, and it has one spot where someone poked the screen and there's a sort of darker spot there, mostly noticeable on white backgrounds. Overall, I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a reliable LCD that doesn't need super high resolution.

    Great value

    Excellent value. Display has slight defect running horizontally across the screen an inch below the top bezel but it's a minor annoyance for an inexpensive monitor that is not for everyday use. Monitor was shipped quickly and packaged very well.

    Good monitor for the money

    While the specs aren't the greatest anymore, Dell's E172FP is a good value (I got it for $60). Nice clear, sharp picture. The specs are 250 cd/m2 brightness, 400:1 contrast, 70 deg H / 60 deg V viewing angle and SXGA res at 75hz (1280 x 1024). Could stand to be brighter, but it's not really an issue as long as you aren't having sunlight hit the screen or anything. Overall I'd definitely recommend it for a decent, cheap 17" LCD. I like them enough that I use four E172FPs between my home and office :)

    Dell 17" monitor LCD good value for a good price!

    We wanted a relatively small monitor for our library/guest room that our son stays in during his time home from college (brief as it is) and a monitor that would work for our HS twins who have research homework along with other computer tasks. This size and quality is excellent for what we want and it performs better than expected. There is even a slot for DVDs that we weren't expecting which makes it easier to use than our big living room or MBR television monitors! Dell is a reliable brand, we have found. All together, it works, it was a good price and it came fast! The product has our recommendation.

    Dell E172FP (Black) 17 inch LCD Monitor

    I love this product. I have been using an older standard size monitor for years and this monitor gives me much more work room on my desk. I also love the larger 17' screen for the much larger display as compared to the older type of monitor. I regret that it took me so long to get around to purchasing a monitor such as this. I would recommend a Flat screen LCD monitor to anyone still using the older type. CarollB450
