Safe harbor in 'Safe Haven'.
Another Sparks reader stated that 'someone always dies in his novels'. That is a foregone conclusion in "Safe Haven'. I decided to order a copy based on the 'Lifetime Channel' version of this novel and I wasn't disappointed with the original story. The book explores several themes of love: toxic love, unrequited love, and the memory of a good love that can linger painfully, sweetly after (and beyond) death. Survivors struggle on to find a new purpose in reaching out to find new meaning and purpose when left behind. In 'Safe Haven' Nicholas Sparks presents a sad, beautiful story about finding and anchoring in a safe, secure, unlooked-for harbor of love. Excellent book, a bit different from his prior books!
I loved this book, couldn't put it down, finished it in 2 nights of reading before going to sleep. It was a bit different from his usual books, but was a fascinating story, showing how a person can go from being totally unhappy due to an abusive relationship, to being afraid to get close to anyone again, to letting go & trusting someone again, and all that entails. It was a wonderful story, and I loved all the characters (except one & you'll know which one when you read the book). I highly recommend this book, as I do all Nicholas Sparks' books!!!I loved this book, couldn't put it down, finished it in 2 nights of reading before going to sleep. Nicholas is a humble and decent gentleman, a man who has donated millions of dollars to society's betterment. The world is grateful for people of his strength, character, and high standards. He has been blessed, and is a blessing. Another amazing book from Nicholas Sparks
Love all of Nicholas Sparks books. Like all of this books, Safe Haven had be hooked from the very first page. It just transports you right into the story. I couldn't put the book down and was very sad when I finished it in one day.
