Sierra-Friendly Wifi Card
My recently-acquired 2009 MacPro was built at a time when wifi was still an optional add-on for Apple. Adding a wifi card to a Mac Pro can be daunting because of the tight quarters and numerous screws to be removed. But this upgrade was relatively simple, in spite of warning on several mac fix-it sites. After locating the wifi slot, one merely needed to move the antenna wires out of the road and secure the card with the provided screws. The trick comes with selecting the right antenna wires, in this case Wires 1 and 3, and plugging them onto the card terminals. The latter can be difficult because there is no room for fat fingers and the attachments are different than most mac users are accustomed to using. Speaking of toolboxes, the supplied screwdriver with magnet was a welcome addition to this kit as the card attachment screws are tiny and easily lost without a magnetized tip to securely grab the screw. With all of the nooks and cranies of the Mac Pro, you do not want to be fishing for screws or lifting the forty pounds of magnificent aluminum above your melon, shaking it for a lost screw.

Apple Airport Extreme BCM94322MC 450 Mbps
This item worked 100% after I installed it on my 2009 8-core Mac Pro. I no longer have to use an Ethernet cable to get the internet. Great product!

Excellent Value!
My 2010 5.1 Mac Pro Tower kept losing the internet requiring me to restart the computer. And when it was working it was very slow, so I decided to take chance on the Broadcom BCM94322MC Wireless card. This was the best $20 I ever spent! My Mac Pro now never loses the internet and the speed is much faster. You can spend over $150 for a new airport card, but this is a much better value. I get both the 2.4 and 5G network my router puts out.My 2010 5.1 Mac Pro Tower kept losing the internet requiring me to restart the computer. I ordered a 2009 Mac Pro recently and realized it didn't have wifi so I ordered this. The price was good, it came earlier than said, came with 2 mounting screws Works great.

I have a Mac pro and I originally bought an Intel chipset WiFi adapter. It worked well until I upgraded my router then it could no longer see the 5G radio signal. Although it could on my old router. I have an older iMac that was able to see the 5G radio signal on the new router and it had a Broadcom chipset which I believe is what AirPort Extreme is based on.
