A wry and amusing musical about a world famous candymaker who hides five golden tickets in candy bars for five lucky children. Young, good-natured Charlie (Peter Ostrum) wins one of the tickets hidden amongst thousands of Wonka chocolate bars. What have Charlie and the other four kids won? A tour through Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, led by the loveable, eccentric, but often mean-spirited Wonka (Gene Wilder) himself. The factory itself is like a fantasy world: crazy color schemes, wild inventions, secret rooms, busy oompa-loompas, and lots and lots of delectable sweets. But Wonka has a hidden agenda, and during the tour he tests each child's character and honesty. Based on Roald Dahl's children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Willy Wonka a classic!!!
"Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is a strange little world that has some great lessons. You can see what you don't want your kids to ever be like, and the character of Charlie Bucket shines beautifully amidst the defective personalities of the other children. I like to use it to show my children how bad certain tendencies really look when a child does them...so they can choose better behavior. Too, it makes you just feel good that this poor, child, living in an oppressive situation, has such a noble character and that it is rewarded in the end. Don't we all want to know that living the right way will be rewarded? As a Christian, I know that awaits me in heaven, but I also enjoy the added benefit of feeling the blessing of a clear conscience - knowing I have ... Some strange stuff in the story but it is nonetheless a really beautiful tale.

Along with The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory hails as one of the greatest children's movies ever made. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is more of a cult favorite then Oz but needless to say it's images are also universally known. The brats, Veruca, Mike Tee- Vee, Violet and Augustus helps some of the seven deadly sins come to life. The Oompa Loompas are iconic and creepy. The factory filled with candy where you can even eat the dishes remains mythic to this day. Gene Wilder's performance is one of the greatest of all times. His crazy hair and wild eyes help bring the mystery to life and you never quite know if he is good or bad. Alas- golden eggs, everlasting gobbstoppers, Violet your turning violet and rivers of Chocolate that must never be ... Along with The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory hails as one of the greatest children's movies ever made. I bought this original version as my 9 yr old niece showed interest in watching it. It did not disappoint ! Fabulous movie..... Wonderful Songs.... 🍬🍭🍫

Finally own them all
Finally got both versions of this wonderful movie this one with gene wilder and it’s reboot with johnny depp, i love both styles and takes on this classic

the story was very entertaining and interesting. The acting was very good, especially for Willy Wonka and Charlie.
