First published in 1976 and revised in 1984, Michael Howard and Peter Paret's Princeton edition of Clausewitz's classic work has itself achieved classic status and is widely regarded as the best translation and standard edition of On War in English.     Outstanding military theory

    On War is an excellent piece of military theory and thought. It is essential for understanding military history and doctrine both past and present. It is the basis of present military doctrine today thought it is undergoing much needed evolution. Definitely a recommended read!

    Best Translation of On War

    On War is a classic military read, and it has a significant historical value in understanding the way wars were fought. This Howard/ Paret translation is by far the best out of all Clausewitz On War translations.
