Footfall - One of the best Earth Invasion Novels Ever
Set in the late 1900's the book deals with an alien invasion of the Earth. When the aliens are first spotted in the solar system, no one understands what or who they are. Then years later scientists discover their ship moving towards earth and deduce it must be from another world. Most of the world is expecting great things from these new arrivals in our solar system, however as they ship gets closer with no answer to their welcome messages, the leaders begin to worry. Suddenly the first shots are fired toward earth and all hell breaks loose, earth is under attack and being invaded. What follows is an account of the lives of those who understand what is happening and what to do about it as the ultimate battle for the survival of man kind takes place. I rate this book a 4 of 5 because of it's understanding of the science behind what is involved in the story and for a great story line. Any Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven fan will have already read this book, but for those of you who have not I highly recommend doing so.

Footfall
Footfall is one of the first science fiction novels I read. It is very different since it deals with of all things intellectual yet aggressive alien elephants. It is well written and has an excellent plot line. The Fihp as they call themselves are different because they have 2 trunks and are triple the size of our elephants and they can pilot their ships as well as talk yes they talk. Invastion of the Elephants
This is an invasion story. The aliens look familar they are elephants with trunks that are divided into tentancles. They have traveled a long way and found a world that they want to take by force. They is a very thick book to read by a master of science fiction stories. The picture on the cover hooked me. I enjoyed listening to an alien perception of humans.
