  • DVD - Ten Things I Hate About You

Excerpt and Information about the movie: Meet the Stratford sisters: pretty and popular Bianca (LARISA OLEYNIK), who has never had a date; and Kat (JULIA STILES), her older sibling, an ill-tempered harridan whose acerbic wit is matched only by her steadfast determination to alienate any guy who might be remotely interested in her. Unfortunately, strict rules in the Stratford household forbid Bianca from having a boyfriend until her odious sister has one of her own -- a situation that seems highly improbable considering Kat is a social disaster. Bianca's desperation for romance turns into a convoluted scheme to match Kat with her male equivalent -- a guy whose reputation is so infamous, Kat might rise to the challenge and find him worthy of her concealed charms. Mating mayhem ensues when ...

  • This movie has a catchy title.

I decided to buy the DVD as I only had the VHS. This is one of my favorite movies and is even more a favorite since the death of Keith Ledger, one of the main characters. Julia Stiles also appears in this movie as the "heinous bitch" who has been hurt deeply by a guy model who is after her younger sister and mostly in love with himself. Kat, played by Julia Stiles, and her sister Bianca live with their Obstitrician dad who has nightmares about his teenage daughters getting pregnant and so the rule is the sisters don't date. This is no problem for Katrina but Bianca is a social butterfly and so by the middle of the movie, through a series of well though out moves by the new kid on the block, Cameron. and his buddy who runs the audio visual equiptment, they get the guy model to pay Keith ...

  • Great Heath Ledger film

I bought this because Heath Ledger passed away suddenly so unexpectedly and he had always been a favorite since his TV series of Roar. Following his career closely I had not done, but at his death was prompted to do some research. This was one of the earlier films he made when he came to the US from Australia. I think he deserves a little better than a pass as one of Holiwood's glamorous youth who overdosed. He was a devoted father and loving husband. His method acting required much of him and his personal life suffered as told by those who worked closely with him in his filming. This was a tender light-hearted love story with a great ending. Not all teen films have a good moral ending. I think that the part of Heath Ledger that conveys his inner feelings comes out in this film. ...

  • Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Letters To Cleo

Initially, I bought this movie because I recently became a Heath Ledger fan and I wanted to see everything he's ever done. Well... the movie was better than I expected. It is actually well written, very funny and has moments that pull on your heartstrings. This movie has a good time making fun of all the types in high school without being too harsh or corny. The band, Letters To Cleo, has three very nice spots in this film, one of them being a great rendition of Nick Lowe's Cruel To Be Kind. And Heath gets to sing in this movie. Heath and Julia are absolutely dynamite together. And don't forget to let the credits run through. There are out-takes toward the end where everyone is having a hard time keeping their hands off each other. I give it an A+.

  • 10 Things I Hate about You

Heath Ledger in one of his earlier roles and Julia Stiles are a perfect mis-match in this 'tween movie. It has a very interesting cast to help the story: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (from Third Rock from the Sun), David Krumholtz (from NUMB3RS), Andrew Keegan (from 7th HEaven). Based on Shakespeare's, "The Taming of the Shrew" it is an easier version to understand. And if you love Heath Ledger, he actually sings in this movie. The songs are awesome too, the band Letters to Cleo did a cameo.
