I bought all six seasons separately on e-Bay and I got some great prices. I bought them to watch and enjoy this wonderful childhood classic series. All I can say is “Wow” concerning the wonderful memories that it brought back to me watching Daniel Boone as a child. Fess Parker is still alive as is Ed Ames, and Jimmy Dean who were co-stars in different seasons. If you have never seen the Daniel Boone show or can’t remember it then buy it anyway! Or buy them for your little mountain man and you’ll enjoy them too! Digitally restored and re-mastered from its original television presentation in 1968-70 – Seasons 2-6 are in brilliant color! Daniel Boone is an American action/adventure television series that aired from September 24, 1964 to September 10, 1970 on NBC for 165 episodes, and was made by 20th Century Fox Television. The title role was played by Fess Parker. Ed Ames co-starred as Mingo, Boone's American Indian friend, for the first four seasons of the series. Albert Salmi portrayed Boone sidekick Yadkin in season one only. Jimmy Deean made regular appearances in Seasons 4-6. Actor and former NFL football player Roosevelt Grier made regular appearances in the 1969 to 1970 season. The show was broadcast "in Living Color," beginning in Fall, 1965, the second season. It was shot entirely in California and Kanab, Utah. The series was set in the 1770s, just before and during the American Revolution, and mostly centered on adventures in and around Boonesborough, Kentucky. Some aspects of the show were less than historically faithful, which at one point led the Kentucky legislature to condemn the inaccuracies. Every Thursday night throughout the 1960’s, families gathered around to watch one of the most popular shows in television history – Daniel Boone. Hard to find
Finding this was hard and finding in good shape was even harder, Yes I paid a bit much for it but otherwise would have cost me $475 and now the set is complete. I had bought the newer 6 disk set but season 3 disk 4 had a flaw and froze in the middle. I loved this series and that really was a poor thing for Fox to do. I returned 3 times and same result. Mastering issue. This was my cure.
