  • Gary Moore One Night In Dublin A tribute To Phil Lynott

I have several different Gary Moore dvds. This one is good but not my favorite by any means. His singing isn't as good in places. Its hard to duplicat someone as original as Phil Lynott. He was not only very unique but had such a powerful presence (i saw Thin Lizzy in the 70,s). It's nice to see some of the original members Scott Gorham & Brian Robertson too, and to see they can still play. This is the first time I've seen Parisenne Walkways on a dvd and it is phenomenal. Gary Moore is one of the greatest guitar players ever, without a doubt. This dvd showcases some of it, but I think Live Blues is his best work along with Blues For Greeny. Mike

  • PPLGBNF. Philip Parris Lynott~Gone But Never Forgotten.

Thin Lizzy devotees salivated at the mere mention of the myriad of influential guitarists who graced Lizzy's ranks reuniting in homage of Phil Lynott & out of respect of the 20th Anniversary of the death of the mulatto Irish genius. Naturally the gig was held at The Point in the wonderful city of Dublin, Eire. I'm glad they decided to professionally record it for DVD televisual posterity as it's really worth a look. Although the gig was touted as Gary Moore & friends, everybody knew that it was a Lizzy reunion. I agree with other reviewers that opening up with a Gary solo number just because of his star power wasn't the greatest of ideas, but after that things went pretty much as hoped for. The absence of John Sykes, Snowy White & Darren Wharton was ...

  • Well worth checking out if you are a fan of this genre of music!

I've actualy done this proffesionaly (Music-Crtic) so if your a fan of one of the greatest (& certainly most under-appreciated) bands of that era I'm talking of course about "Thin-Lizzy" true pioneers of (Hard-Rock) For some reason they are not remembered as well as some of the other (& not as talented) bands from that era! Well even though "Phil Lynott" has been gone for quite awhile now this is a very good tribute to the man himself! His long time (on & off) friend since they were very young "Gary Moore" more or less put this show together to celebrate his friends life (& death) as it was very near the 20th anniversary of that most sad event in "Rock-History" He along w/original drummer "Brian Downey" original ...

  • We need more ..MOORE!!

Having watched Gary Moore's "Midnight Blues - Live at Montreux" DVD, I had to see "Gary Moore & Friends: A Tribute to Phil Lynottt". I love Moore's passionate guitar work. His tones and phrases are impeccable. As Moore has not toured the U.S.A. in some time, and I cannot travel to Europe easily, his DVD's are my only way to see him perform "live". As this is a tribute to Phil Lynott, I also gained insight to him and his band concept. The other musicians in Thin Lizzie were equally passionate in their playing and love for the band. This DVD was easily to navigate and I enjoyed the interviews, which were equally as touching as the performance, itself. In general, the camera work was good, but as a musician myself, I naturally would ...

  • Great tribute

This concert showcased Gary Moore but also featured other Thin Lizzy guitarists as they did covers of some great Lizzy tunes and several Gary Moore hits. Any Thin Lizzy fan will enjoy seeing the lads back together again. Brian Downey does a stellar job on drums and Eric Bell resurfaces to play fantastic lead guitar on "Whisky In The Jar". Bonus features reveal some unknown tidbits that info hungry fans will enjoy. All and all-A great show and value.
