Product Information

The ultimate collection for the ASTRO BOY fan, this box set compiles 51 episodes in English, as well as two episodes in Japanese with subtitles ("The Birth of Astroboy," and "Astroboy vs. Atlas"). Possibly one of the most well-known characters in the history of anime, Astro Boy was originally the creation of Japan's prime comic-creator, Osamu Tezuka. First seen in comic books, the character went on to appear on television in a black-and-white series throughout the 1960s and '70s, all before starring in this 2004 color series. Set in the year 2030, the show follows Astro Boy, a small young robot who is adopted and trained to save the universe after being deserted by his inventor. Dr. Elefun takes the robot in, teaching him how to use his powers for the good of humanity. With his giving personality, flying ability, and inhuman strength, who better to take on the bad forces of the world than this diminutive boy-machine?

Astro boy
The disks were in great condition. Picture quality is really good. Plus it comes with a small book with great pictures.

this is for people who lived in the time of astro boy was still on regular TV with out any cable and satellite dishes. The dubbing is good, story so-so, animation is great for that time period. The only thing that I dislike about the DVD is that chapter selection is weak, you can control the PLAY ALL, but if you happened to stop the DVD, the PLAY ALL is canceled and you have to play next episode manually. Which can become a pain in the butt if you just want to set back and veg.this is for people who lived in the time of astro boy was still on regular TV with out any cable and satellite dishes. this is a classic
i bought the Astro Boy- The collection Box Set about a month ago and am really glad i did. It brought back many good childhood memories, and now my three year old is hooked on Astro Boy just like when i was a little kid. She would even rather watch Astro Boy than any pixar or disney movies. I highly recommend anyone who watched and loved Astro Boy as a kid to buy it for themselves or their kids they will really enjoy it as will you.i bought the Astro Boy- The collection Box Set about a month ago and am really glad i did. Great TV Show
I became a fan of astroboy since the remake series of 2003 and I wanted to view the astroboy series of 80's and it was very interesting. It was nice to view the series that was originally made the creator and it was fun to watch and entertaining. I would recommend this series for any astro boy fan. The dubbing for anime was nicely done and the characters are likeable and fun to watch.
