Great album, must have for any fans of Cooper or social satire.
What can anyone say about Alice Cooper that hasn't been said before, both good and bad? 'Brutal Planet' is Alice's best offering since since his 1975 triumph, 'Welcome to My Nightmare'. While the 80's and 90's brought Cooper back to main stage with albums like 'Constrictor', 'Trash', 'Hey Stoopid' and the brilliantly crafted 'The Last Temptation' it is 'Brutal Planet' that brings forth the best of Alice's social commentary style of songwriting on tracks like "Wicked Young Man" in which he addresses subjects like Columbine,but with the refreshing twist of being from perspective of the shooter. 'Brutal Planet', the title track is a caustic accounting of man's history on this "ball of hate". "Took it Like a Woman" is a refreshing revisit to "Only Women Bleed". Brutal Planet is Brutal Alice
Some people did not like the heavier side of Alice in the late 1990s to early 2000s, but every musician has the right to expand their musical styles and experiment. I personally love the heavier Alice, all three albums Last Temptation and Dragontown and this one. Now if you are a die hard Alice fan and only want to hear Eighteen or School's Out, then you better stick to those albums. On the other hand, if you want to explore the different musical stylings of Alice Cooper, then go ahead and don't be afraid. If you listen closely you still hear the Alice Cooper we all know and love, just with a few more power chords and maybe a tinge of industrial influence. Metal Alice
If you like a good riff then there's a lot of them here. This effort from Alice is really heavy with an industrial edge and of course it has Alice's wit, and humor in the lyrical content. I look at Alice's career in four stages the original Alice Cooper band Billion Dollar Baby Alice then from Welcome to My Nightmare to From the Inside is what I call Theatrical Alice. from Flush the Fashion 1980 until dada I called this the Modern Alice era and then beginning with Constrictor in 86 or so I call that metal Alice which is the long lasting and final chapter and I like Raise Your Fist and Yell very very much and I often mention it has my favorite Metal Alice album but now it's got a run for its money because BRUTAL PLANET is probably the epitome of METAL ALICE?!?!!If you like a good riff then there's a lot of them here. Great heavy duty cd with excellent lyrics the best cd alice had done in years.and also his last great cd . this cd is great from begining to end .I wish alice would do another heavy record like this.For me this is heavy metal that is kick ass. TIMMY!

No more Mr. Nice Guy
Unlike most of Coopers albums this one is pure full of rage. Not many jokes, not many puns, Just vocus on all things wrong with the world. From hungry people to war to abuse this album covers the worse aspect of society. So if your ever angry at the world or the people in it. Buy this album
