Great book full of useful content, but with bad water damage...
Great book full of valuable info about cats....must read for all cat owners. Really a great book....only complaint is that book has bad water/liquid damage. Pages are wrinkled and stained, but readable. GIven the 2nd hand nature, and price somewhat forgivable. Condition pre purchase did not mention past water damage, wife is a little grossed out touching book . aloha

Great book for all ages!
I bought this book mostly for my 8-year-old son, who is crazy about cats! He really wanted to learn more about them, and has a dream of someday breeding, boarding, and having a business where he can sell cat related products. I felt that the Dummies line of books might be a good way of introduction, due to the easy reading of the books. He, and I have learned so much from this book, that we have recently gone on to purchase the book Kittens for Dummies also! Do not hesitate to purchase this book as there is a plethora of information to be gleaned from it and it was well worth every cent toward figuring out these wonderful animals!I bought this book mostly for my 8-year-old son, who is crazy about cats! A Great Learning Experience
I am in my late 60s so Cats for Dummies was an important book to me because I never owned a cat/kitten or even spent a moment reading about one. However, after inheriting a kitten from a granddaughter's stay, I bought this one to learn why the kitten didn't act more like a puppy. AND, I found out and lots more. Information on how to feed, entertain, medical info and grooming needs. It was an easy read, well researched, and highly recommended. I also purchased the book the Humane Society publishes on cats and a third by APSCA. After reading many of the same things in these books, I know now that I am a better informed owner of a very active kitten and I now look forward to living with Snookums. I also know that the information in Cats For Dummies was on target and helped me to ... Cats for Dummies, always live the "for dummies" books.
Love these kind of books in general, but this one really puts into perspective things that we always though we knew about cats. If you like this books, you may also enjoy "The Cat Bible" offering some similar insight into the minds of cats, as well as some contradicting viewpoints, so that you can make an informed decision as to the care of you 4 legged family memebers!
