À propos de ce produit

Product Information

When stand-up comic Lange joined the cast of The Howard Stern Show in 2001, he provided a wit quick enough to keep pace with Stern's own. Wild, shocking, and drop-dead funny, Too Fat to Fish is Lange's reflection on his rise to stardom.

"A very funny man."David Letterman "A comedy treasure…One of the funniest guys there is…The pride of New Jersey." Jimmy Kimmel, "This is a masterly revisiting of the period, every clause of Linehan's sentences embodying not only that eloquence of rhetorical style he so admired in the work of another Fellow of St. John's, Prof. John Cook (see the obituary by Lineham in The Independent, 15 September 2007), but a freshness and vitality of vision that find their fullest expression in his portrait of King Alfonso el Sabio." • Entretaining & Emotional - Easy Read

If you have followed Howard Stern, this book is for you. Although the Sirius audience is treated to every detail of Howard's and his crew's lives, this book goes into the funny and darker side of Artie and exposes you to details that have never been revealed in the radio. It's a roller coaster of emotions ranging from funny annecdotes into how he got into comedy to very dark moments of an addict's life. It is written in cronologically order, however, the style is conversational and stories are told in free form with side stories within chapters that are somewhat related to the period of time, but not really. If you are not familiar with the Howard Stern show, this might seem somewhat disorganized, but it is consistent with how he potrays himself on the show. While I only know him as a ...

  • Artie is actually a very good author.

This is a very well written, hilarious and interesting book. I was actually surprised how well it was written. If you are a fan of Artie Quitter Podcast and/or The Howard Stern Show you have probably heard most of the stories in this book, but none the less you will enjoy it. I have read it 3 times and surely will again. I also recommend picking up a copy of the Audio version of this read by Gary "Bababooey" Dell'Abate, Jim Florentine, Rev. Bob Levy and a couple of chapters by Artie himself.

  • Artie Lange is one of the funniest people on this earth

This book, although long for someone who has lived such a short life, is pretty good. He has demons that will eventually kill him. I truly hope he gets help and lives a longggggggg, "happy life." He blames his drug problem on the death of his dad but every addict has a sorry reason, but I don't buy it. It doesn't cut the mustard with me. Artie, everyone has their pain, their feelings of inferiority, their problems. Grow up already and be the man your dad was! May you live a long time because I love you on the Howard Stern show!

  • Surprisingly simple truth

I wasn't sure what to expect about Artie Lange as book author, but this book pleasantly surprised me. I love Artie as part of the Howard Stern morning group and as a stand up comic in his own right. I expected the book to be more comical in nature.....i.e., Artie poking jokes on EVERY topic. And though there is that part of it, there are brilliant writings by this man about pain in his life. Dealing with his father's situation the way he did will bring you to tears, for in one sentance, you're laughing with him and how Artie's father got Artie onto the ball field to the short stop position during a New York Yankees World Series clinch and then you're brought to tears within a few pages about the heroic life he and his family faced during a work tragedy of his dad. I don't want to give it ...

  • good book

There is just no way to not love this book. Whether you are a fan of Artie Lange or not, the book is fresh and insightful, and it almost goes without saying, funny as hell. Not for the faint of heart (but seriously is anything connected with Howard Stern for the faint of heart?), the narrative is laced with expletives, the situations are sometimes raunchy or downright gross, and the author is not trying to paint a pretty picture of his addiction-riddled life. Once you get past the reality backwash, it is a book filled with honesty and humor as well as some surprising insights. Artie Lange fully admits to having lived his life thus far as a first-class f***-up, allowing himself to be caught up in every imaginable vice and addiction. But he firmly believes, along with his boss, that his ...
